Hi Everyone I have had a rheumatology appointment this week and got an unexpected injection in the elbow! Must say it wasn't as unpleasant as I thought it would be and the difference this last few days has been remarkable, hoping it lasts. I was also told that my Methotrexate will increase from 20 mg to 25 mg and to injections rather than the tablets I currently take. I asked if I could try 22.5 mg but said no. just hoping no nasty side effects. Hope you all have a lovely Bank Holiday.

Tablets to injections
That's good news. Hopefully there won't be any nasty side effects and you can enjoy the benefits of the treatment. Have a lovely bank holiday yourself x
Hopefully the the increase in mxt will make all the difference. Have a good weekend.
It will be quite a big increase as you always lose some when taking it by mouth! Hope that you tolerate it OK.
I'm on methotrexate injections 25mg. No nasty side effects for me. It's also relatively painless to take.Hope it helps you.
Hi
The one benefit from the injections is that they bypass the digestive system and therefore are generally better for not causing side effects. I take the Methotrexate injection at 25mg and find I have minimal side effects. Whereas the tablets caused me diarrhoea and sickness. The reason you can’t the 22.5mg is due to the fact the injection is only available in 10mg 15mg, 20mg or 25mg. Hope that helps.
Regards Ben
Hello I take the injections 25 mg, I have for 3 years now, it’s not any problem, my consultant says the injection works better than the tablets, along with my methotrexate I take a new tablet called runvoq every day.So good luck. X
