Just suddenly developed a lump about the size of a small grape at the base of thumb on edge of wrist joint . It’s very tender. Any idea anyone? I do have a couple of tender joints on same hand and elbow. Yesterday very fatigued and hot so could be a flare.

Nodule or something else?
Sounds painful ! Possibly flare xx rest up and take care x
Could be a ganglion J, and if it's pressing on a nerve, that may be why it's tender.
Can you get ganglions underneath wrist ?
When you say underneath the wrist, do you mean about an inch down from the base of the thumb. If so, yes - I had two several years ago although smaller than what you describe.
Sounds like it then . Thanks S x
Get it checked to be sure J. x

That’s where my suspected 2nd calcific tendonitis is! Since you are prone ro them too maybe you are coming out in sympathy? I see rheumy tomorrow, so hopefully will get confirmation of exactly what it is.
That was my thought. I am having shoulder and bicep pain for sometime. I’m waiting for a MRI but now thinking calcific tendinitis of the shoulder too . 🙄
Just back from rheumy, and this time it’s de quervain’s tenosynovitis, not calcific tendonitis. Popular in the RA community it seems!
So guided injection all along tendon, another steroid in the bum as flaring elsewhere too, and thumb and hand trussed up like xmas turkey. And no more Enbrel. Rheumy thinks its stopped working, which is why this has happened. So new round of blood tests and then on to next drug.
Hope you get appointment soon.
I’ve not heard of de quervains must look it up. At least you have answers.
I was lucky I got a phone consultation today. They think my Baricitnib is no longer working need a MRI on shoulder and bloods but have to wait as I’ve just had a steroid injection. Booked in to see rheumatologist 7th June.
Hop the steroids kick in quickly.
Just looked it up . Very interesting. Need a long chat with rheumatologist.
June!! That’s a long time. Bon courage!
