COVID strikes

Well Hell! I got my booster on 30 Dec and COVID on Monday. At first I thought I was having a reaction, but after 3 days I decided to get tested. It came back positive. Fortunately, my symptoms are not severe.

Good, I'm glad your symptoms are not severe and I hope they stay mild and disappear quickly. 🤞

Same thing happened to me after my third primary dose. Didn’t feel ill just a bit like a cold. Hope you are the same.

I don't have it Calph but thanks anyway.

Edit - I think you meant to reply to MidGaRaPops, not me?

I did the same thing Calph. The post and responses are getting a bit muddled.

Nooooo....what bad luck. Hopefully the mild dose , as a result of the vaccination (?) will pass without too many issues.

Edit : to be clear spring cross ....my response means...I hope you have a mild dose, due to receiving the vaccination. If you had not received the vaccination perhaps you would have had a more serious dose.

I thought this was common sense and common knowledge...even for people with no medical knowledge it is all over the media, that up to 90 % of ICU Covid cases are people who have not been vaccinated.

How anyone cannot know this is beyond understanding.

I'm sure you know that I know this springcross. Speedy recovery to you.

I agree, hopefully it will be a mild case 🤞 It wouldn't be caused by the vaccine itself as they are not live vaccines and so incapable of causing infection with the virus.

However, many individuals feel a bit run down after getting jabbed and so this may make them more susceptible to infections.

That said, it sounds as though the exposure to COVID may have occurred pre-vaccination as it has an incubation period of between 2 and 14 days, with 5 to 6 days being the average.

In any case, MidGaRaPops we wish you a speedy recovery and here is a link to the NHS advice on caring for yourself at home:

Hannah....please .... read my comments. What I wrote says....a mild dose because the person in question had the vaccination.

By implication I am suggesting that had the person not had the vaccination the infection would be worse.

I'll PM you

Hi Mmrr,

Ah I see. I misinterpreted. My apologies :) You're quite right, hopefully it will only be a mild dose and the vaccines will work as they should to control it.

Best wishes,

Hannah - NRAS

Your apology is accepted Hannah.

I am unaware that anyone, other than anti vaxers perhaps? believes a vaccination can give you the disease.

As as experienced health care professional of 44 years, I don't and am very well versed in Covid vaccination, due to my education, personal reading and the fantastic updates from leaders in the field provided by NRAS.

I know that, this thread is getting very muddled. My mistake, I replied to the wrong response.

How anyone can not know that the media spreads lies is beyond understanding.

Well slap my ears and call me Dumbo that's unlucky. I hope it stays mild and that you're back to normal very soon

That has to be the best response yet! Thanks for the laugh.

I hope you'll recover quickly without after effects.🤞

Use it as an excuse to demolish your Christmas leftovers, and watch things you missed on catch-up. Vitamin C and Central Heating are the way to go. Hope you’re not too poorly x

Hence, at least in part, the UK Government's changes to testing and isolation requirements, whether we agree with them or not.

what do you mean by 3 days ?

Thanks all for your kind posts. The worst symptom I have is the cough. Fatigue hasn’t been too bad, although getting to sleep AT NIGHT might fix that.

Typical! I caught it a week after third jab. But thank goodness for jabs. Been very poorly but not had to go to doc or hospital. Thank goodness for those brainy bods. Get better soon
