Off topic: it’s not the cough that carries you off…..

It’s the coffin they carry you off in! A song my dear old Mum sang when I was little and unwell.

My cough has lasted four weeks and counting. After various blood tests it’s not covid but a nasty bacterial pneumonia caused because I have locked myself away so much……

Now on huge horse pill antibiotics and starting to improve. So if you get a cough- make sure you don’t get carried off 🤗

I remember that too Green. Sorry to hear you're still struggling with the cough but hopefully now, the new antibiotics will sort you out. 🤞 x

Hope so 🥵

🙏 x

The cure is almost worse than the ailments

I can quite imagine, especially being that big! 😮🤐😄

I hope you feel better very soon

Thank you 😊

My Nan did too, but said it didn't sing it. I hope the horse pills do their very best & you knock it on the head once & for all.

Thanks they are big blue things and I have to sit up straight for half an hour after I have taken them🤢

Sounds like clindamycin?

Started with doxycycline! Then onto co-amoxiclav! I am becoming a chemist 👩‍🔬

I had a oxiclav once. The Dr said it was like Dettolb!

Is co-amoxiclav you've been prescribed & is that it pictured? Only asking because I thought they were tablets & weren't made in capsule form.

The capsule was the original doxycycline that made me very sick🤢

Ah, I thought the one in the pic was what you're taking now. Phew.

Had a week of those I was floating!!

I was concerned with you saying you're cutting them in half, not usually a problem with tablets apart from potential slight tum issue due to an uncoated edge where you cut them in half on enteric coated ones? In general capsules should be taken whole & I thought the pic was the antibiotic you're taking now. Glad this isn’t the case.

Did not know about the tablet thing! Thanks for that 🥰

You're welcome. Every day is a school day! 😵‍💫

That’s the same for Doxycyline capsule antibiotics. You have to remain upright for an hour after them. I’m on and off these pretty much every other month. Hope your abx work for you. 🙏🏻

Why do they make these things so awful.

Yes my grandma used to sing that song. Sorry you have developed pneumonia but hope those horse pills do the trick and you feel much better soon. (Of course, if you've been coughing like a horse you need the horse pills! 😜😂)

They are the size of a penny

Hope you are feeling much better soon and the huge pills do the trick.

You sure you're supposed to swallow those pills or doing something else with them 😅

They look monsters .

Hope they get working soon x

Thank you! Maybe that is why I am feeling sick …….

Make sure you eat some nice food . That sounds like a nasty infection.

I hope you recover soon my darling i know what pneumonia is like having had it more than once in my lifetime.xxxxx

That was a saying my dad used to make, brought back memories. Gosh I hope you get better soon, I’d really struggle taking those horse tablets. Take care xx

I cut them in half as I can’t swallow the whole things 😝

I hope you soon start to feel better. I know what you mean about being locked away. I am still shielding pretty much and have wondered about the lack of immunity against other winter types of infections. I suppose it is getting the right balance but very difficult.

Doc said because I have been on immune suppressant drugs and shut away I have not had the little bugs we get in general to boost up our bodies so I will go down like a lead balloon. Nice!

This is the trouble. We want to protect ourselves but we need to be out and about to build up immunity. Between a rock and a hard place. All the best

Thank you. When I am feeling better I am going to try to get out a bit more. Hermit city is not good for your health at all 🥴🤤😷🤒🤮

Make sure you drink loads . I know it’s obvious, but some times if I’m really rough,I tend to sleep and not get enough fluids.I hope you feel better soon x

Thank you 😊will try to drink more to flush this out. 😵‍💫

Hope things improve & you don’t get carried off anywhere 🤣 Interestingly my daughter started with a dreadful cough at the beginning of September & it hasn’t stopped although improving. She did lots of Covid tests & all were negative. Her GP has put it on her record as a Covid type illness! Whatever that means. She has been very unwell though. Apparently lots going around. Take care & hope you feel better soon x

👹

You’re right: they’re massive. What helped a bit for me was having a drink of water before I tried to flush them down with more, sort of lubricates the way. X

You need something!🤢🤮🤒🥴

Sure do! ☺️ Made me feel sick too, cut in half like you in the end but had the solid tabs not capsules, who designs these things eh? Tbh I was more worried about flaring without meds but this time fine whereas last I could barely walk. Weird old disease, totally unpredictable. Hope yr ok now 👍
