Sore fingers
Good luck with this darling. I have sore fingers in my left hand and my right hand has joined the party as well. xxxx
Hi, I had my right hand thumb fused some years ago, the joint close to my palm. It has been a great success, once healed all the pain associated with the RA and any caused by using it or accidentally knocking it.... all gone. The remaining joint means the thumb still functions. A metal rod was inserted to stabilize the two bone ends as they grew together, which is still there. The nerves , essential to hand procedures, repaired ok.The impact of fusing a middle finger could I guess be different, and depends on which or all joints.
Hope the above is relevant!
Thank you for replying Yes it’s just the middle finger at the moment, I do have pain in more fingers but this is the worst I’ve put up with nearly two years Think it’s time to get it done I’m so glad yours has worked The surgeon went over all the pros and cons, it’s just the fact that I won’t be able to drive for 6 weeks ( I’m sure I’ll get by)and that I’ll have a plaster cast on I’ve to go back in November and let her know if I want to go for it I think I will You’ve put my mind at rest so thanks I think because of COVID I am a bit wary about having an anaesthetic it was putting it me off
