Can you photograph 📸 lump 🗻 & include photo 🖼 here, 123baines? 🤔
[‘Edit’ post ( support.healthunlocked.com/... ) & ‘Add Photo’ button ( support.healthunlocked.com/... ) will enable you to add picture if you’d like.]
It may be a rheumatoid nodule ( google.com/search?as_q=arth... , nras.org.uk/rheumatoid-nodules )? 🤔
Hope it goes away & stays away. 🙏 🍀 🌺 🌞

I do.if they are what I have they are nodules from the RA.they come and go where some parts of body they stay but extremely painful
They are hard and very painful do you take anything to help with the pain .
Hiya 123baines, welcome, though I'm sorry you've been diagnosed. I was diagnosed in 2008 & started treatment on hydroxychloroquine which was stopped after a year & methotrexate started. I remain on MTX to this day, my longest serving med.
I would think you'll be starting to notice general improvements around now but rheumatoid nodules can come & go even when well controlled. I'd be surprised if they were nodules your Rheumy nurse didn't know what they were, they're common enough though usually in those with seropositive RD. They can be visible on the hands, elbows etc (subcutaneous) or not visible such as those on the lungs, heart & elsewhere internally). This explains nras.org.uk/rheumatoid-nodules
The other possibility, though less likely, is if you have Osteoarthritis too, or not yet aware you have. Hard, bony & painful swellings particularly on the DIP joints (the ones nearest the fingernail) are indicative of OA. I have them & was diagnosed with OA the same time as RD.
I soothe my OA bumps with Perniton Gel. It gives relief for an hour or so but as there's no limit on usage it's no biggie, I just apply it when needed. I don't know if it would be as effective on rheumatoid nodules though I'm afraid.
Thanks for your reply my RA nurse said it seams early for me to get the noules I think see has asked for a blood tests for answers
