We had a fabulous time in saltcoats, sandyland in Scotland last week, sunshine until Thursday afternoon then torrential rain! It was like that before we set off too. My RA has been good, still waiting to start biological drugs. Should have started before we went but it got cancelled. We set off to come home on Friday afternoon and got to A66 near Bowes and had an accident! Our caravan tyre blew out which put us into a horrible spin. Fishtailling , swaying side to side uncontrollable! We hit the central reservation facing the wrong way! Part off our caravan broke off, handbrake broken, wheel broken! But we were ok apart from being very shook up and thinking we were going to throw up! So for 10 hours we were trying to get things sorted on A66 in a lay-by. We had to unhook the caravan and go to a lay-by as it was so dangerous! I am now having a major flare, headache is going mad and still feel so sick, appetite gone too.
But it was a good holiday with sunny weather 😊. Take care everyone

😵😱Oh no!!!!That was horrific for you both!! Thank goodness you're ok. It's no wonder you're flaring...Please take as much time as you can for yourself now and call your clinical nurse. Explain what's happened and see if they can help your body settle down. Maybe they could bring your appointment forward 🤞
That is awful, and I'm glad you're ok, even if well shaken up in more ways than one. My husband has always refused to even discuss getting a caravan being of a similar view to Jeremy Clarkson that they are " car catchers" etc. And that we can go to hotels etc all sorts of negative reasons.
Sorry to hear that. What a terrible shock. I'm not surprised it may have caused or added to a flare. I hope it settles down very soon. The shock can take a while to settle too xx
What’s nightmare. No wonder your flaring. You were very lucky x
I'm really sorry to hear that Carolsos, what a nasty shock for you and a horrible end to a good holiday, no wonder you're in a major flare. I hope it calms down soon and that everything gets sorted out without too much hassle. Take care. xx
What a stressful experience. Rest up and take care.
My great Aunt used to run a B and B in Saltcoates many moons ago before cheap foreign holidays became the norm. I haven't been down that way for years.
Oh no. That's awful. It must have been very frightening for you all. I am glad you are all ok. My son, daughter in law and granddaughter are driving back from Dorset to Lancashire today, towing a caravan. I was worried before about their journey, now there is another worry to add to the mix. Sorry, that's me. I'm worried if I have nothing to worry about.
What a sad way to end a holiday. It's not surprising your body is in shock. Hopefully you'll recover quickly. Be kind to yourself and rest when you need it.Those are the things that you'll look back on in a few years time and then can laugh about it.
What a horrible ending to your holiday. That sort of shock practically guarantees a flare doesn't it? Although we have a caravan I tend to agree with Jeremy Clarkson in that caravans should be like vampires and only come out at night. Wishing you well
Sorry to read how scary the accident was, thanks goodness no one hurt seriously.I find just a mistep shakes my system up so you'll be in a bit of a state for a while so be patient getting well again.
oh Carol, no wonder you don't feel too great, hope you feel better soon. What a stressful situation to be in, glad you were not hurt in the accident and you enjoyed the break 😨
