Does anyone else experience painful gums when they have inflammation elsewhere?

Sore gums and inflammation
Yep unfortunately. Inflammation can appear anywhere. I use to have good teeth and gums now fighting to save my teeth 🥺
Likewise. My gums are terrible now, I have very bad gum disease and am losing my teeth!
Yes I do 🙄
Very sensitive jaw more than gums. x
Yes I do too. Mainly the roof of my mouth. Almost as if I've eaten something and burned it. X
Gosh, I get that in the roof of my mouth too. Been referred to dental dept at our newest big teaching hospital and the guy decided it was aphthous ulcers - I get what starts off feeling like a cornflakes stuck on the roof of my mouth then the horrendous burning, I always get it in the same place. To me it feels more like a cold sore because I feel quite ill with it so I’m not convinced about the aphthous ulcer diagnosis.
To Mrsfarge - yes I get sore just about everything in my mouth, gums, teeth , the lot.
I have only had it since starting my medication of Mexothextrate. My gums are sore but my palate does feel almost ulcerated. Any warm food makes it sting. When you say it feels like cornflakes do you mean as in lumped?? Or what do you mean??
I was getting abit worried that it was my gums but I have never had sore gums before. However, if yourself and other people feel the same sort of effect then maybe it's a side effect. X
I take hydroxychloroquine- no it starts as if there is something (like I imagine a flat cornflake or a bit of skin or some sort of food) stuck onto the roof of my mouth.
It feels to me like a cold sore but the dentist said aphthous ulcer. The hospital dental consultant ordered blood tests for B12 and other vitamins in case they were low but they were fine so it wasn’t that.I also get random sore gums around my teeth it’s very weird - and painful.
I find rinsing my mouth with salt water or using a mouthwash called Gingigel a help but eating and drinking.
I think it would be worth you speaking to your dentist, I’ve learned to live with it now but I’ve had it checked out by three different dentists to be sure it’s nothing sinister. I’m not sure what causes it.
I get peeling on the sides of my mouth ,roof and lips
Snap! I can’t understand why no one seems to know what it is and I bet if you’ve got very similar symptoms then it can’t be some sort of unusual freak condition. I’ve been getting this on and off for a very long time - probably before I was even diagnosed with a thyroid problem but I think that was lurking away in the background long before I was finally diagnosed rather than being seen as a middle aged female hypochondriac.
Oh I’m a middle aged hypochondriac too from the looks I get when I mention these things.
I do.
Yes, mainly the mucosa on the roof of my mouth which becomes red, sore and shiny to look at. The surface of my mouth is easily damaged, I get a lot of blood blisters.Sugar causes ulceration.
Apart from good oral hygiene I use difflam oral rinse when things get bad.
Only for about 6 weeks recently, then I stopped taking Alendronic Acid and it disapeared a few days later and asa not returned in the last month.
My dental hygienist recommended Colgate Peroxyl mouthwash for the times when my mouth is sore and it really works for me.
Yes all the time.....
Me too.
Yes, it usually goes along with an achy stiff jaw (just left side for me). I use extra strong oragel to numb the gums, and diflam, gengigel or peroxyl mouthwash to soothe them.
