In this interesting article giving tips on reducing inflammation, it mentions a study that actually proves that "bad sleep triggers a range of inflammatory markers to increase, including C-reactive protein (CRP)" and that "Quality sleep is an essential component of any plan to lower inflammation."

My GP has just prescribed amitriptyline for my bad sleep. I did take it before some years back and it does seem to help me get a few more hours sleep. Still waiting for that ‘miracle’ cure though!

My GP prescribed a low dose of Amitriptyline which I take just before bed - it's used as a nerve painkiller and anti-depressant at higher doses, but one of the side effects is that it carries me off to the land of nod in no time!

Thank you so much for replying, I will speak to my GP and hopefully they may consider prescribing Amitriptyline to help. Happy Christmas 🎄 to you all. Xx

Absolutely agree with this. A day or two of sleep deprivation will spur on a flare up for me.

Since I stopped working I’m now weaned myself off amityrptilin in the last few weeks so far so good. I think the stress has lifted and I am a far happier person which has improved my RA but not completely.

I’m now hoping the tiredness will fade in time

I have been referred to the sleep medicine clinic about a month ago but there are no appointments.
