Hi I have contacted DWP(PIP) and raised an appeal against my last decision...they have to respond by 24th May..I have sent an e mail to my GP surgery to ask if my gp can write a letter for me as I think I need more proof as I have severe agraphobia O/A in my arms/hands and now my hip! the last appt at hospital they think I have fibromyalgia and not R/A so off meds for this but now even more painkillers and inflammatory tabs..As I could not speak to my gp I wrote everything down and hope will issue a letter outlining these symptoms to be able to claim mobility side of PIP so waiting for either GP or DWP..have I done enough?

Is this a mandatory reconsideration or appeal mogs? You’ve mentioned both in your post. Did you include why you are asking for reconsideration and the reasons why you disagree with the decision, going through their report point by point? I think they can look at the whole award again for MR not just mobility. Doctors support is good but they do need to check they are referring to the descriptors too as that’s what they go by. Sorry if you’ve done all this already.

Is this further to your last posts? it's very unclear and I'm confused by what you're asking about. We can't give you advice because it's very complex and difficult based purely on your personal circumstances. I wish you well but can see an obvious issue.

The DWP often send the doc and/or rheumy/consultant a form to complete to ask specific things and often the docs prefer that mine told me than them missing something out in a letter. I was told to give as much info as possible on the forms as they can ignore what they don’t need. Hope all goes well. x

Read up on the Benefits and Work website. A diagnosis doesn't necessarily equate to a PIP award, it's how a physical or mental health condition affects your day to day living. I'm not sure a GP letter outlining your diagnosis will be enough to satisfy the DWP, you need to demonstrate how a physical or mental health condition affects how you do/cannot do daily activities, giving examples etc.
