Hi Dee, No F2F assessments at the moment all by phone but this may change as restrictions ease, I know with some new claims to PIP or Work Capability Assessments they are putting them on hold until a F2F can be done as they're saying a F2F is needed. I know with my pre-Covid reassessment for PIP they did not do a F2F and did it on the evidence I'd sent in plus with my previous information I guess ..so here's hoping they do this for you especially with the huge backlog they have at the moment too.

Hi my PIP award was until noNovember 2022 I received a letter about 2 months ago telling me it had been extended until August 2023 because if a backlog due to Covid. By the time of the new assessment I will be nearly 65 hope it is renewed.

Morning. I am renewing mine at the moment. DWP deciding if it can be extended whilst the renewal takes place (tribunal win so not done automatically, even though it was a five year award and I have been getting DLA & PIP for ten years). Anyway. I am stressing on my application that I am Clinically Extremely Vulnerable. They are doing phone assessments at the moment, but may well bring back face to face ones after June.

I would not stress if it is next year. They will change policy 17 more times before then :-)

Update: Apparently F2F starting back up in May :-( but only if no other method is available..... clear as always... I’ve chosen to translate this as:

1. paper based if possble

2. telephone consultation if not

3. F2F if unclear..

I rang DWP last week for an update on my claim and they said still no F2F assessments, all done by telephone with the exception of a very small percentage of paper based assessments limited to those with a terminal diagnosis.
