Not DVT

Thank goodness not DVT . Oedema but why no answer yet but gp and nurse who scanned felt it was RA related. A letter will be sent to my clinic. Nurse said no idea when as they are running on a skeleton staff due to covid. I said I’ll email them myself. DVT clinic is linked on line to the hospital I attend so they can read results. Why do they need to send letters when all the information is available 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Any way rest , rest and more rest with leg raised. I could get a bloody degree on rest the amount I’ve done this year .

Thanks for the update, good news that you do not have a DVT. Let's hope that the medics get to the bottom of it soon.

So good news as well as wait for answers. I know that some of the computer systems used in the NHS are not capable of accessing each other and they are reluctant to use email for patient information as it’s not secure. So snail mail is preferred 🙄.

I’m having to do the resting thing as well as a knee injury is still not improving after nearly three weeks. Glad I subscribed to Netflix and I’m hooked on the Designated Survivor series at the moment. Done The Crown and Queen’s Gambit already so open to other suggestions!

Ahhh your degree is Netflix 😁😉it’s a pain more ways than one. I’m a doer which is doing nothing this year ..

That's great news J, you can now cross that off your list of worries. Hope they can sort it asap - are you still on steroids?

in reply to springcross

No thank goodness hate those pesky pills . I do think it’s the baricitnib one of the side effects listed is oedema but Medics don’t agree. My joints are not stiff and no fatigue at all. Can’t remember the last time I had no fatigue so it’s working I just look like I’m deformed.

It is really swollen I agree. Hopefully, when they get your email they will be in touch and can then start the ball rolling on a treatment for it. 🤞 x

Glad home and some answers and now REST yep that word we love 😫😬🥃

MTX day 🥺 but hey I’ll make up for it as now in tier 4.. just need confirmation of shielding. I refuse to go back to work still no protection for vulnerable staff in primary schools . Enough !!! poor teaching staff are disposable and now have to test children for covid when do they teach?... ooops off again

I think you have to put your health first and do what is right for you at the moment.

That is great news 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I hope they do get to the bottom of it. All I can see in my head now is all of us sitting with our legs up, a cuppa and watching Netflix 😊

Glad to hear it's not a DVT and hope you hear from your team soon, keep asking and don't settle for it just being your RD if they don't have any answer, as I know only too well that if they don't know they put it down to RD. Take care and sending you some supportive wishes xx

in reply to Pippy25

Thanks Pip .. I’m like a dog with a bone I won’t let it go x

Glad to hear they’ve ruled out DVT J1707. Are you allowed to put some ice packs on it to try to calm the swelling a bit? Can recommend Prodigal Son on Sky if you have it - easy to watch and 20 episodes or so to keep you busy! 😀

in reply to Monkeysmum

Keep sending the recommendations tv is getting a bit thin 😂 I’m using ice packs and Epsom baths .. I’m so clean at the moment 😂😂

🤣🤣 I’d never even heard of Epsom baths until three years ago, now I reckon Epsom must be running out of salt! Well not sure if it is your kind of thing but my wanderlust has had me watching old episodes of TravelMan on Channel 4, as well as old series of Taskmaster which are good for a giggle.

The last series of Spiral starts on BBC4 on 2nd January. All previous series streaming now if you’ve not seen them. That will keep you occupied and resting! It’s brilliant in my opinion.

Oh my goodness- my hubby and I love Spiral! We realised last week they were all streaming and decided to re-watch them all again..we have just started series 3! Our only dilemma now is whether to watch the last series straightaway, or wait until we have worked our way through all the others and watch it in order. ..... oh decisions, decisions, eh?😁We just love the characters - incredibly flawed, but very human and you can't help rooting for them!

Hi J1707

I'm really pleased it's not a DVT, but I can certainly appreciate any frustration at still not knowing what's the root of the problem. We really have to learn a lot about patience and waiting, don't we?🙄

About TV being educational(!), I'm always joking with friends that everything I learn nowadays comes from watching TV (mainly crime, I admit), dramas😁

We've watched so many foreign language dramas over the last year or so on Netflix, Prime and Walter Presents, that I'm pretty sure I can now claim to be multilingual! At the very least, I can definitely say NO in several languages (very useful, I'm sure)!😆

Next year, my aim is to master YES in a variety of languages too. Wish me luck!

A Very Happy New Year to you and yours. Hope it's a better one all round 🤞😊X

in reply to Kags1068

I like a foreign language films I just rewatched unorthodox on Netflix . Have seen it?. I’m name dropping now my sister co-owns Walter they have desperately trying to get films in before brexit going to much harder and costly now we are out of the EU. You obviously have a gift for languages .. I’m useless... I gain my medical knowledge from tv I’m practically a qualified doctor 😂

Kags1068 profile image
Kags1068 in reply to

Haha! No, I've not seen unorthodox yet. Must remember that one. Well, name drop away - I would! Kudos to your sister! My hubby is very impressed- we love Walter presents. Please pass on our gratitude for many happy hours of viewing. We probably watch that more than any other channel/service. I feel very sorry for them regarding the Brexit business- probably best leave it at that!😉

I'm glad you've picked up on my flair for languages - haha! I didn't like to brag before but like you I'm pretty much a qualified doctor from years of watching ER, Casualty, St Elsewhere, Chicago Hope, Scrubs and House! (Plus others)! One of the main things I learned from House was, if in doubt, shout Lupus!😁

I also think I could work as a cop in New York (possibly a lawyer too thanks to Law & Order)!! The endless possibilities, eh?! 😆😆

BTW, my prospective peaceful New Year's Day has just been disturbed as I've just had a call from the hospital asking me to go for a MRI at 10am! How very inconsiderate!! 😉 I'm going though ........

😂😂send me to school learn nothing but watch tv I’m like a sponge I absorb facts .. odd I know.

Walter presents have just set up a production company called eagle eye drama they are taking popular foreign drama and re producing with an English cast have been lucky to see a few production photos. 😉top secret.. might drop you a few hints that I accidentally find....

Kags1068 in reply to

Ooh, yes please! Do throw any hints my way! That's really exciting news about the company expanding, and I hope it is very successful. Rest assured my lips will be sealed ......🤐😊
