Cimzia tips (switch from Benepali)

I’ve got my Cimzia ready to go and have my nurse appointment on Thursday to talk me through it all. I’ve been on Benepali for a few years so know that taking it out of the fridge hours in advance can help with the injections stinging etc.

Any tips for Cimzia? The nurse is coming at 8am so I don’t want to wait until they’re here to take it out of the fridge if ideally it should be out for a couple of hours before?

You can take it out when she arrives as the nurse will have lots of paperwork to go through before you get to the injection x

Thanks both. Do the Cimzia ones hurt/ sting? Benepali is not a nice one at all!

Cimzia doesn't normally sting if it is at room temperature.

I would take it out before she arrives as long as you know she is defo coming. I am on Cimzia. I take mine out an hour before I inject. I doubt the nurse will be there for an hour. The more at room temp it is the less stingy. I find it stingy when I inject but the pain goes away quickly

An hour is fine. Cimzia can now be stored for one period of up to 10 days at room temperature below 25c.

I take the CIMZIA out of the fridge about an hour before injecting. I inject with a very quick stab and a slow release of the content. No stinging involved

I take mine out of the fridge just for a few minutes and hold in my hand to warm just slightly before I inject , even at room temperature it’s a thick consistency so doesn’t make much difference. It can sting so reading the other comments I may try taking it out sooner in future!

My goodness Cimzia is a DREAM compared to Benepali! I was bracing myself and can’t believe how much less painful it is to inject! Thanks for all your messages x
