Could anyone help with my blood test results please??

Hi everyone,

So I have been having difficulties since February with my health. I have had abdominal, lower pelvic pain. I had 3 ovarian daughter cysts discovered in August. Not big enough to do anything to help at the moment. No mention of surgery or anything. I have had symptoms such as pain, severe bloating, fatigue, bouts of sickness, sore and tender stomach, irregular bleeding with clots/spotting and so on, along with the feeling of fullness. Was supposed to get referred to a gynaecologist, but they have changed their mind. I feel like I am going around in circles to be honest. I have had urine tests and both times it’s shown something. 1st time I had white blood cells in my urine which was given antibiotics for. It didn’t feel like a urine infection. No burning or stinging, just an urge to wee, more frequent and having bouts of losing control of bladder. I have said it feels like a pressure feeling.. in my pelvic area. 2nd one showed red blood cells but no white that time. This was maybe a month or so after the first one.

So anyways I ended up in hospital in October because of how bad the pain was, which didn’t get anywhere other than confirming my ovarian cysts and sending me home with high painkillers, which I ended up relying on heavily to get by day-to-day. I have recently had some blood tests done, however the results on my account said “normal no further action required”. I would like someone to just confirm this and say if there is any result that maybe I need to be aware of, be mindful of , so I can keep an eye on in the future. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

Your blood test results are normal, apart from the mean cell haemoglobin concentration which is fractionally high - but by such a small amount it is unlikely that a doctor would consider it significant.

Did you have an ultrasound or MRI to identify the cysts? And did that rule our fibroids? As some of your symptoms match what I had before my fibroids were identified and removed. And has your doctor discussed endometriosis?

One suggestion would be to write to your GP practice saying that you have now been in daily pain for nearly 10 months, and this is now seriously affecting your daily life and ability to work, sleep, look after family etc etc.

You feel that you need to be referred to a specialist, as this is becoming unbearable.

Sometimes a practice will take more notice of a letter as it is then on your file and they can’t ignore it.

The blood tests are not helpful in making any diagnosis and are all within normal or acceptable levels. You need a diagnosis. Has anyone suggested endometriosis? It might be helpful to discuss referral to a gynaecologist with your GP.

Hi. You should talk to your doctor, we are not medically trained here and cannot give blood result or diagnostic advice. Also this has come onto the rheumatoid arthritis site not gynaecology one.

You can google normal blood results too.
