It is not Sunday - but I thought I would update you on my diet experiment

So, I went all out vegan on Sunday, I also stopped all oils including the Omega 3 red krill oil I have been taking for a couple of years, and other than a multivitamin and CalcD supplement stopped all other additions.

Last Thursday, my Metoject Mtx dose went up slightly from 15ml to 17.5ml.

On Sunday, I also stopped taking Naproxen - so have had no NSAIDS at all.

My left wrist, which was giving me some problems is not right, but it is a bit better, the pain is less, and the swelling hasn't returned to the levels pre-methotrexate so is only slight. My stomach feels better, my energy is good and morning stiffness is still there but not as painful.

Diet or increase in Mtx? Not sure, but I am pleased that I am not popping Naproxen daily as that also means no Omeprazole.

It's early days, but I aim to continue with the vegan low fat eating plan.

I love to cook and I love food. This way of eating hasn't caused me any problems in terms of restrictions but I was already veggie and low sugar, so only slight changes were needed.

I will check back in on this topic regularly.

Please note - this is a personal experiment. I am NOT suggesting in anyway that anyone should try it. I am only sharing my OWN experience of this. I am certainly not selling anything.

Thats brilliant that you are feeling an improvement in your RA, compared to years ago there are so much more foods and recipes for a vegan diet, saw a vegan risotto on BBC cooking show and it lookd delish.

Well done ! I did many years the raw food diet for a few months and o was much better physically and mentally with much much much less pain... I stopped as I couldn't resist anymore eating all the " bad food" . I am still vegetarian .

It does take a few weeks to start working though but I find I had lots more energy .

👍🎉

😂You’d be surprised at some of the responses - or would you? Anyway if I stress I’m not recommending it seems to stem the vitriol I’ve experience in the past.

I’m just trying to find the best path through this disease, as we all are.

Missing my cheese a bit though 😊

My DIL is vegan too, I can't imagine life without butter, cream and cheese! I'm Celiac and have to have some pleasures. And vegan chocolate is awful. I'm just very glad if it works for you.

Hello Brushwork, good for you. Don't forget Vitamin B12 and DHA( I use whole earth&sea, marine DHA, it's vegan Omega 3, 300 mg. They make this in vegan form.

Keep up the great work! Really looking forward to your updates...

I find my brain fog lifted dramatically (chronic problem), I am now able to get up in the morning (without Pressing the snooze button over and over), have great energy and stable blood sugar (as well as the great blood test readings I had mentioned). It takes time to reverse the effects of years of eating in a different way. Some of my joints really improved, others not yet anyway. At least I feel my body is healthier to process the methotrexate and etanercept. Have fun with it. I found changing my attitude to appreciating all this great food helped a lot....🤗
