It's birkenstock all the way for me. Soft footbed sandals in the summer and clogs in the winter. I do have to remember to change them for outdoor shoes

Actually I think I have two pairs of them somewhere

Worth a try. If it works for you, great. If not well it hasn't cost anything. I recently tried the mayari design and no. Wouldn't go on my left foot. I hope you find something comfy soon. Hurty feet are awful

have you been checked in case you need orthotics?. I was given them by rheumy dept and also mostly wear ankle boots, usually Pavers ot M&S wide fit, velcro tabs. Pavers also do heavyduty slipper with velcro tab and firm sole and I find these good.

Clogs too if your ankles are ok. Thanks Gnarli... forgot aout those!!

Ankles not good if I wear flip flop ones ☹️

Because I wear orthotics in my outdoor shoes I prefer not to use them indoors if I can manage without them. So I buy Vionic sandals and slippers which have a very shaped footbed including good arch support. I find them really good and worth paying a bit extra. I particularly love my leopard pattern plush slippers. Had those 2 years and wear them every day but they still look great.

I wear flip-flop sandals when it's warm and thick, furry slipper-socks when it's cold.

If you like Mules - Skechers Ninja slippers are comfortable...I’ve had a similar style with a thick soles for years....they are expensive for slippers....but they last.

Try Pavers too ....they do solid sole slippers

I suffer with painful feet, too, and cannot walk barefoot any more - which I always loved to do before RA. My indoor shoes of choice are very padded flip flops from ASDA for £10. (I think they call them 'sporty flip flops'.) Really comfortable and lovely deep, soft sole. Don't know what I'm going to do when the weather changes and feet start getting cold.

I have been wearing Archies which are flip flops designed by physios to give arch support - my son is a chiropractor and he recommends them coincidentally to patients. Since buying them online in April I have one pair for outside and a pair for indoors as I can’t walk barefooted anymore due to RA and have worn nothing else! It used to be a Birkenstocks but I’m a convert to these now! If you do buy any - online only - they are true to size.

Hope they work for you. When I first saw them thought they would be too tight but they stretch easily to fit. Let me know how you get on.

Let me be the odd one out as I`m a total cheapskate so look out for bargains if I know they work . In Bulgaria they use an indoor slipper which sometimes is hand made but should be available online and they are very comfortable and warm . Bonus is they are cheap .

Sketchers every time

Crocs can't beat them, light, wide fit, plenty of holes to let your feet breath. If they get dirty just put them under the tap and wash them - brill

I wear sketchers walk and Birkenstock’s and fitflop indoor and out I love my birkies thou I’ve so many pairs and when you first get you think so uncomfortable but after about an hour you like wow and live in them. If you buying sketchers you have to go down a size with the walks. I bought mine from Qvc x

I swear by Crocs. They even do fleece lined ones. I’ve been wearing them at home as slippers for years. So comfy!

Sketchers are the best. I have many pairs and from walking short walks I can now walk for miles, literally. I have ugg sliders for hot weather and for indoors.

I wear Birkenstock in the summer indoors and out

I wear the soft footbed ones as I find them more comfortable and have the normal width not the narrow ones.I like the arizona double strap style as they are easier to keep on my feet.

Slippers I have skechers mule style i think they have memory foam in them

Hi, I was told a few years ago, by a Specialists that the best shoes for my feet are Fit Flops, that is what I have been wearing for years! Winter months I wear boots a size bigger then I normally have, around the house I wear my feet! I know that is sacrilege but that is me.

good luck God Bless x

An orthopaedic surgeon told me that firm soled shoes with a small heel are best , avoid Sketchers as they seem comfortable but with foot problems can make them worse and he operated on my left foot to straighten it and broke my toes etc. Afterwards no pain and six weeks of a blue boot and no pain and then normal shoes after about 12 weeks so its worth asking to see someone if its RA damage rather than general discomfort.

I wear either Fit Flop clogs or Fly Flot Slippers. Both have very soft soles which take shock of hard floors & a sight rise as I can't wear flat shoes. I wear Crocs toe thongs in the garden in summer which sometimes make their way into the house (when I forget to take them off!), they are equally comfortable on hard floors. I can't walk barefoot even stepping into the shower.

FlitFlop have many style of slippers and casual shoes you can wear indoor. I do. They are quite pricey but are very comfy too. I get a couple of pairs in the sale. They have many which are wide fit which is why I like them.

Sketchers have a range called Bobs and they are super comfy otherwise their go walk range is amazing. I just got two pairs from their outlet store as my rheumy saw my sandals and flipped at me x

Mahabis are wonderful. Not at all cheap but they have a good proper sole so can be worn outside if you want to and the back is made of silicon to keep them safely on your feet and can be folded down to turn them into mules for warmer weather. I prefer to walk bare foot indoors in warm weather but sometimes it's too painful and the Mahabis give me a comfortable buffer from the hard floor. I was sceptical before I got them as I wasn't sure they'd live up to the hype and be worth the money but I asked for them for my birthday and I'm so glad I did as they look and feel as if they'll last a long time.

Another thing too I’ve actually worn mine to work as well. I’ll do that when my feet are really hurting. It makes me more comfortable during my work day . Other than having shoes like sneakers that have to be tied. Essexgirl if you can do that as well I’d say do it. I’m sure you’ll find that your feet will feel a lot better during your work day. Especially if you have to be on them over eight hours like I do.

I ware uggs slippers when I’m home. That’s all I’ll keep in my feet when I’m home. I’ve gone and done my errands in the too on several occasions. They are very comfortable on my feet. I won’t wear anything else around the house other than my ugg moccasin slippers. I will say they are expensive but worth every penny to me. Uggs have moccasin slippers for women and men . The uggs moccasin slippers are just as stylish for ladies as they are for men’s. So you can wear them with jeans too and go casual in style. No one will know you have slippers on.
