I love my rheumy team and my GP

I am so lucky to have these people to help me. They are so proactive and lovely. I had a call at 8am from the rheumy nurse and she’s already tried to speak to my GP (who sadly is not in today) however my surgery (another doc) is ready to receive from the rheumy nurse what’s to happen and has seen my email.

The plan... move to injections hopefully for tuesday’s MXT dose. If that can’t be done using District nurse perhaps to administer in time for Tuesday I take 25mg MXT tablet dose for my next dose. I’d rather go straight to injections I think especially as that is what my Rheumatologist was suggesting a month ago.

Over the last year I have so learnt not to be afraid to ask. They can say no that’s not possible but asking and being proactive is so important.

Crossed fingers. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Please don’t sit in agony suffering ... being in a flare up after all is a covid risk in itself. Please call your teams and tell them you need help and if what they have suggested isn’t helping call or message them again. Hugs to everyone ❤️

🤞🏻 I hope so. Boy do I hope so. Going for a second opinion was the best ever decision. I researched hospitals all around me and chose this one and this team and my GP was happy to refer me. Poor man must be so fed up seeing me. 🙃

Hi Alex

I hope you are feeling a little better than you were a few days ago? You are certainly sounding brighter!

A good medical team behind you really is invaluable isn't it? Makes you feel so much safer. I'm so glad you have this.

Good luck getting those injections sorted, and hope things continue to improve!🤞😊

Hi 🙂 it does make you feel so much better when there is a plan doesn’t it, it really does help.

I can get to my kitchen and my bathroom on crutches and make myself breakfast and lunch now which is great. A long way off where I was before it took another turn on Sunday but I will get there and beyond towards ok.

I Will get better by hook or by crook 😉🙃

Yes, I believe you will! As you just said you are already a long way from where you were Sunday, which is brilliant news.

I totally agree about having a plan in place too. It gives you something to work towards rather than just flailing around - it makes a big difference!😊

Onwards and upwards for you now ......!😊😊

Thank you. They really are aren’t they. And if you can believe it the metoject pens are now already prescribed and waiting at the chemists to be delivered to me and the District nurse referral has been done. So if all the stars are aligned ... it starts on Tuesday. I am so grateful to them. I hope your day is going ok. 😁

Great news 👍

So pleased for you bubblyalex. I have a fab rheumy team too and it is is so reassuring, isn't it, knowing that you can get help.

Absolutely. I do follow it all up but they are just so brilliant and kind. I reckon I’ll be able to get to my patio sofa today.

The extra pred has been the thing and I am really hoping the new med delivery system and increased dose will do the trick and stop me having to be taken into hospital. 🤞🏻
