And on a lighter note

Do watch Meerkats Music Take that concert. It was really good the humour is kind and it was fun. It cheered me up after the son and DIL and baby had gone home as not sure what was worse not seeing them or seeing them and hot being able to hug. Although my clever son had one of those big hands to wave with. With so much angst its good to just watch something you don't need to think about. I've now watched GOT twice, Last Kingdom to season 4, Designated Survivor and Vikings plus The 100 as well. Can do 20 minutes at 10km per hour on the trainer and dumbbells feel good. The Lockdown has given me time to just rediscover a love of cooking and reading as well. It might even be a positive thing. Has anyone else discovered something new and whats your best tv watch for a bit of escapism ?

I watched the TT concert too. I thought it worked extremely well. This is it (below) if anyone wants to see it, or you can watch it on TV if you have the YouTube app. I've been watching the The Shows Must Go On musicals too. The ALW ones have finished now but the weekend before last it was the American version of The Sound of Music & last weekend it was Hairspray. Other than that I've been the garden which has had the most of my attention, for which I am really grateful. I don't know how anyone who doesn’t have one have coped.m.youtube.com/watch?v=e-GK1...

Don't rush things Sylvi, its early days my chest infection in 2016 lasted for 9 months and I saw the Respiratory Consultant he said it'll take time. And it did, you have to pace yourself and do try to do too much because it takes a huge toll on your body.I know you love your garden as do I and love seeing your photo's. What colour is the hair ? lol x

Funnily enough mine too. I don't need to watch the weight but have used more herbs and spices which has been fun. Tried a few new recipes and made the most of once a week shopping as can't just pop to Sainsbury's to get a few items.

Cooking, reading and my garden... thank goodness for this weather. I am pottering in it, as much as my legs will allow me, trying to grow veg for the first time in earnest. It’s been trial and error but I picked my first cucumber a few days ago and two more today. Aiming to feed the 5,000 here 🤔😁

Good enough to feed just one or two never mind the 5000, I've got tomatoes and sweetcorn but no cucumbers so have to wait. I'm the only one who likes cucumber and I am interested in free food or hedgerow food. I'm going to make jam again this year a friend grows strawberries on an industrial scale and will give me a box for jam to raise money for the church roof. All the strawberries in M&S are grown here and we have fields of courgettes and potatoes. We did'nt plant any potatoes this year either. Never mind soon be able to pick apples and blackberries and might even get some greengages as well. x

Ooh yum to all and especially greengages. I wish I had a greengage tree... maybe I should get myself one as a Christmas present. 😁 I make plum jam and marmalade usually. I haven’t tried making strawberry... I get the impression that that is harder or not so easy to get setting point on? I have planted or sown a few different things... celery, fennel beetroot etc we shall have to see what actually comes to fruition or not!

Yes it is harder but nice Pectin does work I sometimes add in Chambord liquor or Proseco just to give it an adult kick.

A few years ago I made quince jam with cardamon pods (no one tried it),it was sad 3 doz jars I knew were lovely but sadly no one interested. So being of an innovative ideas (some good, some very bad) I changed the labels on our stall to Jerusalem Marmalade, I know quinces are the parent of all the apples and pears and were probably first grown in Iraq (James Wong's book). So just stretched the truth and it was for the new toilet for the church fund. Any way the stuff flew off so I increased the price, we sold out and had advance orders for more. The quinces were free and people loved it and it was a pretty pink colour. If you can find quinces, usually can be wild in old hedgerows they go black quick but it doesn't matter and they set fast. Delicious and my favourite jam. And I like jam too. lol x I've also made chutneys with free runner beans (lots here) and also free pears, apples and victoria plums. I have to say it gives me a kick from nothing to money in a few hours I get the church to collect clean jam jars and a lot also like my no two batches are the same pickled onions. The flavour depends on my mood, spicy or mild, chilli or honey most then buy at least 2 jars. I bought a small induction hob for the shed to stop the house smelling like a Branston factory.

Hula hooping 😁 I was clearing out the attic and found a weighted hula hoop I bought years ago. I’m loving it and can hoop for15 mins Non stop while listening to music . It’s great exercise and I don’t need to use my sore fingers . Thanks for the video idea... will watch it while hooping today 😁
