Burning/Tingling pain at the top of the spine (Is this AS or yet another condition?)

I’ve been getting pain that aches, tingles and burns intermittently in the bobbly bit at the top of my back, just before the neck.

Is this part of my AS? Is it a sign of fusion? Is there anything that can ease it a bit more permanently than hot water bottles?

I’m also getting the same thing in my right shoulder, this has been going on for a year or so.

It could be AS, or it could be osteoarthritis, you could have had a muscle spasm in your neck, or it could just be your posture.

They only thing I can think of the ease it would be to get it seen by a doctor and physio - which I guess isn’t that easy right now? So look up simple stretching neck and shoulder exercises, keep your shoulders back and see if that makes a difference?

During my last physio appointment in March I mentioned it, but obviously not had one since then.

I’m honestly wondering if it’s worth asking for a scan on my upper spine as I’ve had a few issues with my scoliosis which rheumatology don’t seem fussed about.

Yes, ask as that could really help work out best way forward. Maybe try your GP? As could be unrelated!
