Today was strawberry planting. I loved the fact I have done it as part of 12 weeks stay home but whilst working at home I now get to do things like this.
And before any gardeners throw the hands in the air in despair I am just loving it even if it is all wrong.......learn by mistakes as I did wild abandon styled gardening!
My methotrexate day was yesterday I really didn’t feel well all day I was even off my food! Like you said it doesn’t always effect you like that every week. I grew strawberries for the first time last year great fun tending your crops every day, forcing everyone who visits to “come and have a look” husband and grandkids looked at me kindly( or pity) Can’t wait to start planting again .
Brilliant, now sit back and reap those rewards in the 12 weeks you are at home! By the way when is the decking, water feature and pergola arriving Monty/ Charlie? !
Over 100 onions planted at weekend and im chuffed as daliah tubers have over wintered well. Grew them for first time last year, so tomorrow will get them in. Keep in greenhouse till a bit warmer.
It's not about having a perfect garden it's about enjoying it. Good on you for getting in your garden and enjoying yourself. Now me ... I went in my back garden yesterday looking forward to trimming me bush 🤪🤪 before I started on mine, I was looking at my neighbor's clematis which was heavy and scraggly and likely to poke an eye out so I asked her if I could trim it right back so she said yes. ( she was pottering about as well ) Then she told me it was poisonous but she couldn't reach so I said I'll happily sort it. So I proceeded to vigorously attack it. So after half an hour I said to her right if you get it from your side it should be ok. I gave it a right haircut! So she stood there and said I didn't mean that one I meant the other big bush( which was mine.) Ooopsie I said I think we got our wires crossed there. Anyway luckily enough she laughed and made a cuppa and all was good 🤣🤣🤣
Strawberries plants might not produce a huge amount this year but next and 3rd year they will be fantastic..Dont forget to save the runners later in the year to set up another bed. I am so pleased we can go up the allotment and we have got 6 rows of potatoes in so far..You could put some seed potatoes into a bucket and watch them produce..
