Grocery home delivery service

I have been sent an email from Sainsbury’s this morning advising me that I have been prioritised for their home delivery service. Hopefully everyone has the same email. If not you could ring them on 0800 052 5500 which is their vulnerable people helpline. x

The phone number was given in the email I received so wanted to pass it on in case other people need it who are classed as vulnerable. This will start from tomorrow x

I think it is more due to them knowing I am registered Blind as when I signed up years ago for home delivery I advised them that I am registered Blind and at that time had a guide dog. Didn’t want anyone with allergies to dogs not knowing I had a guide dog. Just wanted to share this with our lovely forum so anyone needing it can register. x

That's great to hear Sainsburys are doing that and my mum received the same.

I'm personally registered with Tescos and they wouldn't automatically know I'm at risk because I don't fall into the age bracket and have never had reason to alert them to anything else previously.

Hopefully if Sainsburys are doing this, Tescos will also follow suit... so starting to wonder if I should find some way of contacting them to let them know I fall into the at risk category...

I am registered with Tesco too but have not received an email from them and they again would likely class me as vulnerable as they know I am registered Blind. If I receive anything I will let you know x

Thank you and that would be very much appreciated. My hunch (hope?) is that if Sainsburys are doing it, Tescos are probably hatching something similar too though currently they seem to just be asking people not to be inconsiderate when booking up delivery slots and alas... judging by how many other similar "requests" are currently being disregarded, I don't hold out too much hope in that respect...

Thank you for sharing this.

I had a home delivery on Thursday and I could have amended the order until Wednesday 11pm but when I checked my order on my account all the items had a green thick so I wasn't worried. Then Thursday morning I have received an email from Sainsbury's that many of my items won't be delivered but then I couldn't cancel my order or amend it.

So they delivered only a few items but I still had to pay for delivery.

I wasn't happy 😔
