Antidepressants and Biologics??

Hey guys, first post here. Good to know there’s a community for this stuff as I’m sure if you’ve all had to deal with a ton of stuff over the last little while. I’m wondering if anyone has had any problems getting their antidepressants to work while they’ve been on a biologic? I went on Avanza (antidepressants) after starting Golimumab (biologic ) and prednisolone and everything was going pretty good until I had an allergic reaction to an antibiotic (Keflex) that caused temporary paralysis in my body. Now after two months it seems like my antidepressants have stopped working and started to interact with my other drugs negatively, has anyone else had anything like this? The doctors thought it was because of the prednisolone (I would go into a negative spin after every subsequent pill), but I’ve stopped that now (and added in another antidepressant) and seen no improvement in mental health (after seeing so much improvement initially). Has anyone else had their mood drastically impacted by their drug interactions? Or felt especially depressed after taking Humira or Simponi?

It's very common to become depressed after having a diagnosis of a long term condition. Especially if you had a temporary paralysis - I think that would upset the most level-headed person! Some of the problems can best be helped with talking therapies with a therapist - have you any access to these?

Sometimes too, an initial improvement on medication can be due to the placebo response (we expect to improve on medication) only for that to fade with time.

But you do need to be guided by your medical team as to the way forward with medication.
