Hi pinkplum I’m the same it’s annoying isn’t it. I can’t wear eye makeup at the moment. I don’t look the best anyway but no makeup 😱😱😱frightening the kids at work 😂
I have trouble with my eyes. I have had trouble with them for a long while now. I have had the tear ducts cauterised to stop the tears going straight through to keep them lubricated. I have a very good optician and if I have any worries I just go into see him and he has a look all the time for me. xxxx
I developed Sjogrens secondary to RA, not just eyes, but all lubrication is affected, dry ears, mouth etc Though eyes are particularly problematic
I have that too Pinkplum. It is very common with RA, lots of people have it. I have to go for regular checks at the eye clinic and my eyes feel like they are full of grit most of the time. Looking back, I have had this problem since I was in my teens and wonder if I had RA as early as that, because I used to get back back ache then.
That’s interesting I wonder did you have it back then. I didn’t know it was one of the things that can come along with RA. A learning curve fir me.
It’s not pleasant that’s for sure.
I too suffer with this. I have eye cleansing liquid to wipe in and around eyelids plus eye drops. Haven't worn eyemakeup in years. 👁
Had Sjogren@s Syndrome for 32 years, is Blepharitis anything like it?
The feeling in the eyes is very similar in both conditions. I was told I have sicca syndrome which I think is just another word for Sjogren's Syndrome.
I have dry gritty eyes too, doctor just gives me artificial tears, which don't help very much. I wonder if the optician would be a better person to speak to about it.
My optician was very helpful over this and did various tests to see just how dry my eyes are.
I have an appointment at my hospital next month to check my eyes because under new NICE guidelines anyone on hydrochloquine should have regular checks.
