I wouldn’t. You could miss a week this weeks and start on Thursday next week( it wouldn’t hurt) I had to stop when I was on antibiotics. When I could start taking again it wasn’t on my preferred day so I just took it 2 days later each week until I reached my preferred day

Hey

I have done this a few times and it’s been fine.

The first time I forgot my injection till the day after. Then I forgot and took my injection on my usual day the week after, panicked and spoke to the nurse who said it’d be fine.

Then I’ve also done it again since with no problems.

I do have the injections but I’m not sure if that would make any difference. If you’re hesitant and unsure maybe just run it by one of your rheumatology nurses. X

Can I ask why u went on injections ? I am really struggling with taking it by mouth so I’m going to the hospital in two weeks to be shown how to go through the injection process , I’m so depressed with taking it in tablet form it makes me really sick and I’ve been on 20 mgs for around 20 weeks

I started on injections from the get go, I didn’t want the tablets, I’d heard bad feedback about them and was very anxious about side effects and being sick. So the nurse very kindly applied for funding from the start which was approved and I’m so glad for it.

I have to say that the fact you’ve been taking it 20 weeks and still suffering from sickness is a good reason for them to switch you to injections which from what I’ve read resolves this side effect for most.

That said with the injections I can sometimes feel a bit sicky, and have the usual methotrexate hangover the following day.

Hope you get this resolved ASAP x

A day either way of your normal day is usually ok, so long as you don't change days regularly, ,but the usual warning we are not Drs. I ocassionally changed my day with no problems.

The instructions that come with MTX say that you should always leave seven days between doses. So if it suits you best to take it on a Thursday and you took it on Friday last week, then this week you take on Saturday, week after on Sunday, week after Monday etc etc until you get back to Thursday.

Having said that I have very occasionally ignored that advice! But that’s not what the official advice is.....

It shouldn't make much difference, you took it the next day. Not to worry these things happen.

I was told by Pharmacist NOT to take early to correct the day. Your safe options are to miss a dose this week completely, or to do as HelixHelix has advised. My preferred option is to miss one week, then I’m back to normal the following week.

I wanted to move from Tuesday to Sunday with my 20mg Methotrexate injections (because it suits my routine better and so is easier to remember). My rheumatology nurse told me it was ok to have my injection one day earlier for two weeks, in order to bring my day forward to Sunday.
