Chapel allerton : So I'm at my rheumatology appointment... - NRAS
Chapel allerton
We've all been there, your choice but my advice is GO, you will have plenty of support not only on here but NRAS if need be. Good luck π
I think anyone who takes part in trials is worthy of a well done! It's entirely up to you though you must have considered it worthy otherwise you wouldn't have signed up. See how you feel in the morning & don't feel that you've let anyone down if you decide not to go ahead with it. If you do choose to go ahead I hope they reassure you enough & you're ok with it. x
Go! Don't think about the side effects think about the benefits.
Hugs darling they are not that bad and i hope you don't have any side effects from them.xxxx
I've had pretty bad side effects from alcohol throughout my life. Strangely, some weekends I'd wake up and throw up. Then throw up again. I also found that a fair bit of wine or beer gave me a criminal headache. Never could understand it!
Some people didn't seem to get quite such bad side effects from a boozy evening out. So putting 2 + 2 together and making .... I dunno, 10 or something .... I rather assumed I'd be poleaxed by the drugs I have to take for PsA. Because clearly I had SIDE EFFECTS written all over me. But I took them eagerly anyway because I fancied being able to walk again, not being in so much pain, not needing joint replacements etc.
Lo and behold, I very rarely get any side effects from DMARDs.
You know what I'm saying, don't you? In our society many of us (I do know many are more sensible) blithely gulp down alcohol which IS a drug, a powerful one, again and again and damn the consequences. Yet when it comes to taking drugs which may protect our bodies and minimise our suffering ..... all we can think about is side effects. It's crazy.
I hope things go really well for you Deejojo. If things don't work out with a drug you will not have to continue it, there are always other options. Don't be scared!
Thanxs soooo much hun everyone has. Been great ππ» it's π to be able to share your thoughts on here and get some good feedback xx
Do you mean you are going on a trial for a new Dmard, or that you are starting on a Dmard for the first time?
If the latter take a deep breathe & hopefully like most of us here you will be successful on whatever you are starting.
If the former ....the drug will already have been well tested before being given to you, & you will be very closely monitored. ...but if you are really too apprehensive to continue on a trial phone the hospital today & tell them you have changed your mind.
Good Luck whichever it is!
Good luck - don't worry about the side effects until something goes wrong! Which DMARD are you being given?
The GOOD definitely out weighs any side affects! .....
