My legs gave way on Monday night and I fell onto the bedroom floor ,I could not get up even with my husbands help . Called the Ambulance Service at 2200. They didn’t arrive until 0600! So I spent 6 hours on the bedroom floor. They wanted to take me into hospital but I refused.
Any way I have such a painful bottomwhich really hurts with each move ment I make. Anyone had a similar experience?
Hope your better Magnolia, that is a disgrace having to wait that length off time. I know their busy but you should not have to wait that length off time for an ambulance xxx
It’s priorities. It may have been uncomfortable, but she was was safe and warm and unhurt 😀 If someone was having a heart attack or stroke or similar, they will always take priority. It would be impossible to have ambulances on call for every single eventuality. Generally the times are excellent. Occasionally, everyone has an emergency at the same time.
Yes but she had chest pain could’ve been her heart,I know their very busy but they have responders
I do wonder sometimes. Even though they're (the services generally) busy we usually have a Paramedic arrive first, in good time, certainly no more than 20 mins, to assess or triage the situation & an ambulance is then called if it’s necessary. The ambulance is usually there in minutes. I do hope you've not done any damage.
That's extremely long to wait, disgraceful. If it was me I think I would go and get checked out just in case some damage has been done.
Me too Pinkypie, but then I have Osteoporosis with spinal fractures, so it would be unwise for me not to get checked out.
I’m very sorry you had such a distressing experience...but unfortunately the Ambulance service have to prioritise Their calls, & I’m sure you understand a very elderly person alone having fallen outside at night, would be attended to ahead of somebody indoors in the warm with someone to care for them....not at all nice for you, but as the Ambulance service is at full stretch 24/7 it was sadly unavoidable.
But if you are in still pain why don’t you call the emergency out of hours service? They have clinical advisers who can decide what you should do now.

I had a fall on Tuesday , I fell outside on my path , like you I can’t get up , I was alone , but thankfully there were some workmen a couple of doors away and they heard me calling for help , they got me up and back indoors . Similar to you , I’ve been in great pain since , so I went to see my GP yesterday , she checked me over , for me the pain is muscular , the torso is so painful , I fell backwards so pulled all the muscles including neck . So my message to you is please get yourself checked out , even to give you peace of mind . I was told it will take a few weeks to recover .
Could be bruising? Particularly if you fell backwards in your coccyx? It might be a good idea to see the doc just for your own peace of mind.
I’m always scared of falling. I live alone. No one would know for hours! 😢😢
Apparently I have some very large bruises on my bottom, daughter and husband said they are very colourful!! They will take time to heal. Hopefully then every slight movement will be less painful. Did see doctorr who actually called round, had to send in a urine sample and apparently I have a UTI. Haven’t got the e drugs yet I am waiting for a delivery. From Pharmacy 2U

Me too..I tripped backwards over a slippery cushion..broke my arm & got concussion when nobody was around..luckily as I was on my way to get a taxi...my neighbour came home & dropped me off at A&E -12 miles away. It didn’t dawn on me to call an ambulance!
I don’t know if that was sheer stupidity or the concussion!
That was not a fun day...or the following six weeks with my arm in plaster. Fortunately it was my left arm and I am right-handed but still a bloomin’ nuisance!
Cushions are now banished to the guest room beds-I accept no responsibility if they fall over them!! 🤸🏼♂️🤸🏼♂️🤸🏼♂️
I strongly suggest you see your GP. Legs don’t suddenly give way for no reason. Do it luvvy. You know it makes sense.

My legs gave way while going down stairs. Broke my coccyx. Nothing ould be done, took three months before could sit as a passenger in a car and six months before I could sit down properly.
I more recently had sepsis in my hips the pain unbearable couldn't even breathe in without agonising pain. I was waiting 8pm to 6am bank holiday weekend. Emergency gp had to be called out to give me morphine so i could be moved to go to the toilet. Humiliating isn't the word. Spent 9 days in hospital recovering.
(I don't blame the NHS I blame the cruel system we have in place that deliberately knowingly enables these things to happen under the excuse of austerity to line the pockets of those that have it all already.)
I'll pass on breaking my coccyx I'm glad to say...that sounds awful!
I can however emphasise with sepsis in the hips, well one hip anyway...I dread to think what it must have been like having it in two!! 
Tis acute pain of the highest order!!! 
I underwent two bouts of surgery to clean out the infection from my right hip followed by a 10 day stay in hospital on IVAs, plus follow-up scans, including a particularly worrisome one on my heart to see if the infection had reached there, which thankfully it had not!
How are your hips now? My hip does niggle me on times but not it's not too bad. Consultant reckoned that if the infection had continued for a day or two longer then more serious damage would have occurred.
That sounds absolutely horrendous
I have recently experienced this au am currently on my 2nd steroid injection not sure if it’s to do with that it feels like muscles in bottom .
