Hi all

Just wondering if any of ye suffer from flatulance bloating and slight crampy pain and indigestion.Iv had it now fir about 4weeks

I’m on Embrel and I’m not sure if it’s from the medication or is it a new problem of it’s own

I’m a bit worried about it

Hoping some of ye experiences it also

Oh yes 💨💨💨 and mild low gut pain at times

It is much better since I've stopped MTX but not 'normal'.

I think it is the baricitinib as my gut improved when I stopped taking it to have dental work carried out.

When I'm not well RD wise my gut problems are worse and vice versa.

It does seem to be a problem for many people with RD !

I was having 2 root canals extracted, so open wounds. Rheumatologist said to stop baricitinib a couple of days before and restart when the wounds healed.

A filling is fine.

Thanks Mm, I think it's a filling I'm having but not sure until my dentist looks at it. If it is an extraction then I'll stop the baricitinib and make a new appointment.

My dentist was excellent. He phoned the dental hospital for advice, no problems.

Wish I could say the same about my dentist! I had front tooth filling fall out for the second time a few days ago so she has to redo that as well as the other filling I spoke of. She only filled it 10 days ago! Difficult to find another NHS dentist around here, my brother is putting my name down with his dentist but it could be a long wait.

Sorry about deleting my first post but it wasn't my intended reply.

Oh yes, I have taught the dogs to bark now, so no passing wind in this house

Yes especially the couple of days after MTX injection also can get very nauseous so use

metodoproamide to reduce that.

Now I have the reason for my flatulence. I always thought, I'm just an old fart. Thank you.

I take ginger - and eat ginger ice cream - which I've found helps. But it's a constant and annoying problem although less now than it was when I was on methotrexate!

There is another post today about the very same subject and I am quite relieved to see them both as I suffer so badly from wind and bloating. It can be so embarrassing and it gets uncontrollable at times and I get almost frightened to move or bend over.

Hi ,

do you get these symptoms after a meal? if so it could mean that your stomach is interfering with your breathing system.
