Wonderful news Allanah..I remember waiting for mine to come through..I got it too..very pleased for you, it does make life a little easier...bit of a mixed blessing though.x
That's great news Allanah and really speedy - I'm just waiting for the report from the OT to add to my consultant's letter then I will be applying for PIP.
I failed with my application and just haven't had it in me to apply again, my GP has no idea who I am and apparently told them my condition was expected to improve. I don't know what I have to do to get it, I have no income and have to pay for buses to hospital and prescriptions with my overdraft. We can't afford the heating most of the time so I sit in the freezing cold all day. Sorry, just feeling bitter :/
Oh now I feel bad Dogrose , I wasn't sorta gloating just amazed it went through so quickly .
You must appeal and go and have a proper chat yo your gp and ask why he didn't support you Your application properly, there is hope but it is not 100% that the drugs will improve things. So talk to him and appeal. Xxx
Take no notice of me, I'm just a misery at the moment (way too late to appeal and impossible to see my own GP, you have to get who you are given, I've only seen him once in three years)
Well Amanda if you had read my six lines you will have seen the words phew , relieved and surprised. Does that not sound as someone who indeed expected a battle as others have had?
I was telling everyone as some people on here will have applied for DLA and maybe will get the same quick reply.
And I would hope that those who haven't been as fortunate would be pleased for me Ax
I've deleted the comment Allanah and in my defence I've had some upsetting news today about a close friend of mine who's been diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer...very sudden onset! I did say in the comment that I was not having a go and I was pleased for you as I know from reading your posts how much you battle with RA and the medications but others are not quite as fortunate with receiving DLA/PIP not once did I suggest that you might not have your own struggles previously to get it. Best wishes Amanda x
Within a week has got to make headline news (actually, no, keep it quiet because they'll (DWP) start using you as an example of how fantastic they are) Lol. Glad the worry for you is short-lived though Allanah.
I sent off my form to transfer from Incapacity Benefit and Income support onto Universal Credit last September. Naturally, they are unable to just transfer the information they have on file for you but make you re-apply to justify re-assess you.
I actually have absolutely no idea what is happening now. I'm still getting the Income support and believe that Universal Credit is being delayed because of system incompetence so will just wait I guess. I least I'm getting something.
My last DLA was for an indefinite length of time but I assume that won't make any difference when they come to change to PIP.
