Adalimumab injection for RA

Hi all, I've got rheumatoid arthritis, I've had it for years. After a major OP last year (which I talked on here and had lovely support) the trauma to my body set of RA more and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Methotrexate didn't work, just got horrible side effects and I'm not on sulfasalazine and leflunomide for it. I'm taking gabapentin for fibro.. thing is I've not started taking a fortnightly injection of amgevita which is a similar to humira. Is anyone on this??? Is it helping or do you just having crap side effects like me?? Bad headaches, blocked nose/sinus, sore throat, aching and completely wiped out? 🙄 so fed up of myself xx

Hi Caz, if you put amgevita into the search box you will find all the posts from people about it. I’m not on that biologic but when I started mine I had most of those symptoms to start with too but they have settled down now. I’d talk with your rheumy nurse if the symptoms are causing you problems.

Not sure if you realise Caz but you've posted this exact question twice on HU NRAS. Maybe you thought it was going to be posted in the HU Endometriosis site, this post also shows there?

Hi, thanks so much. The rheumatologist nurse specialist has called e this morning, my esr and crp have come down slightly but I still have all the cold symptoms which are making me feel awful still. She suggested I come off it for a few weeks but is checking with my consultant first.. :/ xxx

I have both RA and fybro i take duloxetine for fybro and mtx and biologic Simponi initially had side effects but they settled down except for dicky stomach days i inject. You should expect to take something three or four times before your body gets used to it but if you still feel bad not better after this get back in touch with your biologics nurse to at least discuss symptoms.
