I’ve been having some jaw and tooth pain lately so I begrudgingly brought myself to the dentist. My least favorite place to be. I hadn’t been to a dentist in years but for once that’s actually my choice. I hated my old dentist and vowed never to go to the dentist again after my parents told me they thought I was old enough to make that decision. While my dental hygiene is literally the worst I apparently have super freaking healthy teeth. Not any decay whatsoever and no cavities. I must be doing something right to have managed that 😂😂😂. This dentist I went to though was super nice and friendly. She let me look at my xrays and explained everything to me clearly making sure I understood everything she was telling me. Even though the diagnosis was pretty self explanatory haha. I’m proud to say that I went alone as I’m an adult now and can do that. I was very anxious though. Didn’t really want to be there but knew if I didn’t go I’d have some pretty bad consequences. She joked around with me a little bit too to ease my mind a bit. When she showed me my xrays they told me I had no teeth left to loose which I wasn’t expecting because I only lost three molar total. But she said that sometimes people only develop their adult teeth and never loose any teeth because of this. So that was pretty cool to know honestly. My teeth roots dig deep into my jaw (take after my dad) and the dentist laughed at how wonky my roots were. Literally all of them curved towards the back of my mouth. Now on to my diagnosis. Hahaha. Bet y’all have already guessed by now though! My bottom wisdom teeth are ready to erupt and the one on the right side especially is coming in pushing against my molar which is what was causing me pain. My top ones aren’t close to coming in though so it wouldn’t be necessary to have them taken or but it might as well be done while I’m in there. I’ve already made my appointment and it’s set for three weeks from now on September 9th. And I’ve given my mom strict instructions to video tape me cause I ain’t passing that opportunity up! 😂😂 anyways I’m actually very nervous and anxious about it and three weeks give me TONS of time to stress and worry about it. I did somewhat good distracting myself today but there’s only so much I can do in a camper to distract myself. Have any of you ever had your wisdom teeth pulled and if so what was your experience?

Well done you for going to the dentist to find out whats wrong. Now to quelling your nerves, have you considered getting something from your dr or go to the chemist to get some Kalms which will help you relax when you go next time. Also darling you won't feel a thing as they will inject your mouth so you will be ok. xxxx
The hard bit it is done. Over coming your anxiety and fear was the biggest step. I have had 2 wisdom teeth out and a normal tooth out and extensive root work. All with no problems in this day and age you won’t feel a thing. My friend was petrified she saw a therapist before her major work and my sister saw a hypnotherapist both said they really helped. Don’t worry you’ll be fine
Well done Ccrowlu.....dental hygiene is really important & you are really lucky not to have any cavities....your teeth cleaning regime must be better than you think!
Don’t stress about the removal of your Wisdom teeth...I had all four removed on the same day when I was in my 20’s & it was fine......bit difficult eating for a few days after.....but no major nasties. Your dentist will advise you about aftercare.....please listen to her!
That was 50+years ago & I’m sure the procedure will have vastly improved!
I still have all my own teeth...some fillings but mostly healthy teeth!
So look after yours......much cheaper & more pleasant than having to have dentures!
Good Luck on September 9!

Lovely to read your update. Well done for going to dentist. I do think dentists have become a lot more sensitive and understanding these days. Just my thought.
Keep up the good work.
So glad that you managed to overcome your fear of the dentist. They are so much better and more understanding than they used to be. I had some wisdom teeth out some years back and it didn't seem any different to having any other teeth out. Some people told me it was much worse, but I can honestly say that it wasn't. Good luck with the rest of your treatment. I think it will all be fine.
