My Rheumatologist is starting me on a Biologic called Xeljanz. It comes in pill form, has anyone been on this medication, and if so, side effects, ? Was it helpful?

Hi - I was on it for a short while but did nothing for me. Click on my bio you should see the link when I noted my experience, you would need to scroll as it was 11 months ago.

I don’t recall any major side effects. All the best with it. Hessie ☺️

I was going to mention that too HH but knew you would advise. Glad you did as difficult typing with my tender hands. I think you need these lines as a standard template text, as questions like these come up lots! Hope all’s well for you.

I thought Xeljanz was a JAK Inhibitor, not a Biologic. Try this website for more information. You need to be tested for TB before being prescribed it.

Hi,

I was started on Xeljanz 2 and half months ago after failing on numerous biologics.

So far I have had one urine infection but I have noticed a huge difference in not being so stiff and sore and now have more energy.

I always make sure I take the tablets with food and drink plenty water and apart from a bit of a stuffy nose at times, I have had no side effects at all.

This is the first drug out of 7 biologics that I have tried that I feel is helping and I have a better quality of life at the moment.

Good luck
