On to the next... any experience with Xeljanz?

Well I’ve been through all of the dmards etc.. sulfasalazine was the last one and was a no go. My liver really doesn’t like any of them.

So on to the next.

After all my immunizations I will be starting Xeljanz/Tofinicib.

Anyone else taking this? My doctor is quite optimistic.

Thanks.

I started on this 2 weeks ago, ( first biologic I’ve been on)

So far no adverse effects- bit early to say how effective.

I ve been on this drug for 7 months after trying all the normal first line drugs and having 2 knee replacements due to RA... and it has been life changing for me ,2 tablets a day , no more chilling meds down , free to travel again with no cool box ...... Happy Days 😃😃😃

Thanks for you encouraging reply. I’m feeling better already and hoping it’s not just coincidence !

My sister is still on this as part of a trial, must be about eight years now. It has suited her very well. She has had some problems with her cholesterol going up, but otherwise seems very well with no side effects and good control of symptoms. She's doing a lot better than me anyway!

Thanks for the encouragement. My lovely rheumatology nurse was very positive and I think there’s an improvement already. Maybe it will prove to be the magic ticket!

This drug has made the difference like night and day. When I was diagnosed in 2011, I was unable to walk up a flight of steps. After being on Xeljanz for a couple of weeks, I won't say it wasn't difficult, but now I can walk up stairs.
