Back of the knee pain?

Hi, I seem to have developed a new pain!

It’s in the back of my knee and it seems to occur when I stand up after being seated for a little while. Doesn’t always happen but when it does it’s very sore.

Any ideas 🤔

Could it be Baker's Cyst? I've never had them myself. See what you think after reading this.

Was thinking the same Poems, as I get a recurring Baker cyst.

Its tricky isn't it. I just think i've got a handle on the bits that are going to hurt, when and for how long when "bink' --- things change. 🤔 Some other twinge, ache or 'glow' appears . I then go through the "was it something i did / didnt do , something i ate/ didnt eat , the weather?" , etc etc. Who knows? RD seems unpredictable, temperamental and v mysterious still to me. 🤔

Hi, I was told I had "water" on the back of the knee from an x-ray done by my G.P. I was was told that maybe I could have it drained. I've read this is not always very successful or productive as it forms again. Several months ago, I felt as though I had pulled a muscle although I knew I hadn't done anything to cause that. Then my leg and ankle swelled up alarmingly and I got an emergency appointment at the doctors. She thought I might have blood clot and got me an appointment at the hospital for a CT scan. It turned out a baker's cyst had ruptured and leaked into my leg. This was the "water" behind my knee. It took about a month for the swelling to go down and was pretty painful. I now have a problem with the other knee which I find very difficult to straighten after sitting or lying down. Before I can put weight on my leg and walk I try and stretch the knee by pushing the front of my knee into the mattress or settee. I do this for several minutes. It was an exercise recommended by my physio. I wish you well :-)

That does sound familiar, the bit about not straightening your leg. I’ll keep an eye on it and mention it at my next rheumatology appt. Thanks 😊
