There have been quite a few posts on this - just put the name of the drug into the search box to get the most recent ones.

And there's some information on JAK inhibitors like baracitinib in the treatment section of the NRAS website.

I was due to go on this drug in November, but due to a blood test showing I have latent TB I have to take three months of antibiotics and until these are finished all I am on is MTX and painkillers. My consult wants me on this he says it is very good drug to take. xx

I have now been on Baricitinib for just 3 weeks and I have no pain or inflammation. This is the first time I have been pain free for over 10 years. I am taking no other drugs and can only say I am thrilled with the result. I have had a cold sore which is listed as one of the side effects the others being susceptibility to upper respiratory tract infections and shingles.

I take the tablet every night before bed with a big glass of water and find that it doesn't have any impact on my stomach as other drugs have.

Good luck to you and I hope it works as well for you.

Morning

I started this drug 3 days ago, having failed on Humira and Cimzia. So far all is well. I was quite anxious about immediate side effects like nausea etc but there are none so far. The pain in my hands, which made them useless, has decreased but that could just be coincidental. Too early to tell yet but high hopes for continued improvement, but I’ll need the usual blood tests to see what’s really going on. Good luck

Could be a coincidence, but my pain started easing within a few of days of starting baricitinib. Some of these meds can get going pretty sharpish with some folks.

Hi I started in Baricitinib on 15th February 2019. I was in a very bad way after having zero treatment for RA for about 6 years. Good news I was given 10mg of steroids (prednisone) for a couple of weeks then 5mg for a further two weeks. Well what can I say the swelling in my knees and hips has reduced dramatically I am walking better as a result and pain is a little better too. I am only taking 2mg of baricitinib as I have very low immunoglobulins. I have to say that this drug is great no side effects for me either. I have to take penicillin v as well to ensure I don’t get too many infections. The only thing I’ve noticed is the pain was a bit better with steroids as well as baricitinib but if this is as good as it’s going to get I will settle for it. Most people are on 4mg of baricitinib but I doubt it’s an option for me. Good luck go for it because my life is sooo much better already.
