I've had several back issues, but for different reasons to you. At present I am using ravlo, lidocaine patches and taking diazepam (valium) to help with the spasms. Along with all my usual RA meds, I'm getting by at the moment, but not going outside the house. I find the neurosurgeons to be excellent, but it is difficult to get others (GPs, nurses to understand the level of pain back problems can bring).
Rheumatology have been no help what so ever despite several MRIs showing synovitis on all of my faset joints.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Hi Csavo. You could try ringing the ROS (Royal Osteoporosis Society) Helpline tomorrow as they are not open on Bank Holidays - 0808 800 0035 if you still can't get hold of your GP. In the meantime, you could have a look on the Bone Forum on HealthUnlocked to see if there is any help there. Good luck.
Once again…..a consultation with a physiotherapist might help.I fractured two vertebrae & a couple of sessions being shown the right exercises really helped…..despite the fact that I have previous lower spine damage.
I have the same problems and I am also having a MRI of my sacrolic joint's on 13th Jan.Osteoarthritis is apparently my. Cause unless MRI finds ankylosis spondylitis
I get a lot of pain in that area not all the time but more latelyI can't help you other than I take pain killers and use a hot water bottle in that area to ease some of the pain
sorry I am not much help
hope you get some help real soon x
I have 2 disks that pop out on a regular basis and go to an osteopath every 2 or 3 months. He works wonders. I am not recommending that you do this. Everybody is different and you need to get medical advice first. You also need to make sure that his/ her credentials are sound. My Osteo is exceptional and very highly qualified. This is for me but not necessarily for you.
I have found that the osteopath is the most help, but it may be a problem if you have osteoporosis. You need a well qualified one who is able to adapt their techniques suitably. Mine is excellent - for example on one occasion she would only give me a short gentle massage (and didn't charge me!!!) because she was sure that the problem was the rheumatoid arthritis not mechanical and asked me to contact the rheumy team urgently - and she was correct.
Ihave had back problem for three years , eight fractures due to osteoarthritis, crushed veterbrae, I have had no help what so ever , try and see physio private , get advice, I can only walk short distance as Ihave to keep sitting down , this has affected the quality of my life . Good luck
Got to speak with gp and has changed my 30/500 cocodomal to long tec tablets and went for bloods first day on them and they seem to be helping 🤞
I am having a lot of pain after a fall on my lower back and although 2 lumbar x-rays show no fractures there is no improvement. I suspect damage to the sacroiliac joint but a wait for an MRI will take some time. So I have booked an appointment with a physiotherapist who has helped me before with tibial tendonitis and am hoping he can help.
Hope you get sorted nothing worse than the waiting when your in so much pain . I'm hoping that my bloods show up something so I can get sorted out
Thanks csavo. I also have osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis. I am pretty sure my problem is osteoarthritis related but in the absence of any good reliable advice apart from painkillers which aren't touching the level of pain I have I am hoping that the physio will be able to pinpoint the the cause 🤞.
