In mid-January I had a steroid jab but was so disappointed it had no effect.
This week, about three days before I had my first dose of Benepali, My knees started to feel a bit better for the first time in over six months and I was in less pain and more cheerful all round.
Is it possible for steroid jabs to take six weeks to work?
If so, how will I know if the Benepali is working???!!!
Thanks in advance and hoping everyone has a decent day,
Terry

It doesn't seem likely to me that the steroid injection took that long to work - it's more likely to be the natural ups and downs of the disease. It was still on the way in January when you had the jab, perhaps.
I think they’re supposed to work right away, but I had a shot in each knee in December and the right knee hurt really bad for a week and then got better while the left knee was good right away. I thought that strange as well.
I find the injection site can be painful at first which can make it seem a bit of a negative effect but my shots always work straight away on the inflammation but the pain where the needle goes takes a week or two to settle.
I have had one which was painful on the bone but normally it is straight forward. I usually find my knee is stiff from the 24 hours after the shot when you immobilise it. It is worth it though for me for the many months of relief and mobility.
I've had mixed results with them. The first two I had did nothing. The next one was a revelation! I felt amazing for about 4 months. But with this one nothing again. I don't think the improvement was the steroids after all because after a week of less pain etc it's got worse again. Oh well. Fingers crossed (metaphorically) for the Benepali.
