I had my steroid jab on Wednesday but I’ve had no relief yet. Does this mean it hasn’t worked or is there still time for it to kick in? Are there different strengths the nurse can use too? I’m so disappointed as I’ve been in agony for months.
My depo steroid jab: I had my steroid jab on Wednesday... - NRAS
My depo steroid jab
If in doubt speak to your rheumy . I know they say rest for 48hrs after the jab.xxx
I'm sure It is different for everybody....I don't know if it depends on the dose you are given how fast it kicks in - I have had 40, 80 & 120 strengths &
I found the relief just sort of crept on & was quicker the higher the dose......but that might just be me,
Do hope you feel some effect soon.
It can take up to a week to work. So hang on in there, but it does depend on the dosage. Hope it works for you soon. TTx
The depo I have had worked almost immediately. Apart from the last one I had in my elbow joint which is bent and can't straighten. Been told it can take a few days to work in some cases.
Always takes time for them to work for me. For some folks it's immediate relief. For me it took over the space of a week. Still wasn't magic, but better than I was. Give it time and rest up a bit. It will kick in.
Thank you everyone . I’ll try and keep hopeful and crossed fingers (if only I could)
Hi, I had one last Tuesday, and was expecting the same as you. The last one I had, must have been a bigger one as it worked so quick, and all the pain went, this time after a week, seems a bit of relief but not like last time. Nurse did say could take 2 weeks to reach potential. Hope you start feeling relief soon. X
Can take up to a week to work depends person to person. In case you wasn't told still keep up regular meds.
If steroid was in the bottom area would be full strength as treating more than couple of joints.
Best wishes
Pamela xx
Yes there are different strengths, & they can differ if you've been given a general steroid injection or into a specific joint. My joint ones have worked but the vernal I had took a week & gave me one day's relief. It was a good day, I'd forgotten how it felt but was only the day. I always ask what I'm being given & the dose if I'm not told, just so I can enter it in my records.
