They performed a breathing test on my brother this morning to see if he could breath on his own in anyway. Unfortunately he failed the test but the doctors aren’t worried as these kinds of things take time. In a little while they will be bringing him up to surgery to get an ivc catheter placed in his abdomen to stop any possible clots from his legs getting up to his lungs or heart. Nothing on the scans has changed which is actually a good thing because that means he’s not getting worse and could possibly be healing. My uncle and aunt spent all day with him yesterday and are already there today until we arrive though I’m sure they’ll stay once we get there.
On another note I need to ask for prayers for my girlfriend in the UK. She has been having a really really hard time lately with bullies and family drama and all that and she attempted to take her life the day before my brothers accident. I was informed this morning that her wounds are infected cause she’d been self harming before hand and whatever she’d been using to do it wasn’t clean in the slightest. Right at this moment it’s not looking to good for her and I’m hoping that if she is also in peoples prayers she could also get better like my brother appears to be. If even one of them lives I will probably have my faith back in god and while I hope both them be saved I know that isn’t how anything like this works. You guys are an amazing support and I really do believe with more people rallied on both their corners will do a great help just like it’s done for me in my journey to discover I didn’t have RA but instead Hypermobility. I hope you all are feeling alright today and having good days thank you for all your support

Update on top of the update. My aunt just texted saying he’s moving more today on his own and is responding to requests to move his toes and fingers even trying to open his eyes when asked!!! The neurologist is very pleased!!!
That’s got to be good news - I hope he continues to show such positive signs, and that your friend recovers and gets whatever help she needs to get through this. Take care of yourself and your folks - you all need each other at this very difficult time.
I've just seen this Cortney, missed your previous post but now caught up.
Pleased your ankle is ok. At least you know how much you can/cannot do on it now.
I'm so sorry to hear about your brother... & now your friend. They'll both be in my thoughts. I hope for the very best outcome whether it takes time or it doesn't. Seems both need all the prayers people are willing to include. Hopefully once you arrive to be with your brother he'll be even more responsive.
Thank you very much. I’ve finally gotten to see him and he looks pretty good all things considered. I was alone with him and spoke to him but after a while I just couldn’t hold the tears back
That's only natural. It's never nice to see those you love so poorly, especially so when you've been worrying how he is on the journey to be with him. It's partly relief & partly concern. x
I honestly have no clue what it was. I just couldn’t stop the tears and the eventual sobbing when my mom finally entered and I could leave to calm down.
Good to hear there are positive signs from your brother, but so sorry about your friend.
Sending them both huge get well wishes.
Sending YOU a huge virtual hug from me, sounds like you definitely need it. Ruth xx
