I need some advice as I cannot cope with the pain in my legs. I have no swelling or inflammation in them but they hurt so much. From my hips down to my feet, I feel like I have run a marathon!!! It’s like I have really over exercised but I haven’t at all. The muscle aching has kept me awake for the last few nights and my legs feel like they are so heavy and fizzing almost!
I need some advice as I have to go to work and I’m still lying here in bed!!!
Thanks in advance!

Oh Sarah I feel for you . I have to say I have no advice at all . Have you tried changing your sleeping position with a pillow under your knees . None of this truly worked for me . Best get yourself off to the doctor at least if you're in a flair they can dampen it down . Sorry I can't help but I'm sending you massive hugs 🤗 x
Thanks Nessa, I’ve tried changing pillows, putting and electric blanket on etc but nothing helps. I remember having this years ago when I started flaring after pregnancy (symptoms completely disappeared during) I think you’re right and a trip to GP is in order. xx
Mine got worse during the last part of my 2nd pregnancy I was told big baby probably on sciatic nerve , she was big but the back ache and groin ache just sort of lingered . 3 pregnancies later it really flared up I was covered in a rash all over my face and neck legs and back horrendous , same as you was told it would settle . Wish I had support and the courage to challenge my doctor because I was in your shoes , new baby four other children and full time work so I accepted the pain killers and the rest is another story . Don't leave it , it maybe nerve damage and your ligaments etc need to tighten up following your pregnancy but it may not and with a new baby and a job you need sleep not chronic pain . Let us know 🤗🤗
I get you there mine are 32,30,29,20,17 and boy do I know it . A bonus from the AS I was to ill to continue to work so I gave up and the bonus is I have grandchildren I look after it kills me at times and I have looked forward to half term , but it's allowed me to see all the bits I missed with mine as I returned to work with all of them and the biggest bonus I hand them over 👏👏go to the doctor don't leave it I've only got one boy you've 3 so you're full on there xxx
I can feel like that when I have over exercised or done too much but you say you haven't. 😐 I also have felt like that when a joint injection is fizzling out or I am ready for my RA infusion. Does it feel like muscular pains or nerve pains? Sciatica is something I have also experienced when I've had an RA flare, going from buttock to toes. Sorry you have to go to work feeling like this. My NHS Rheumy Physio usually is excellent at finding why these things are hurting but often one has to wait to see him. Hope it improves for you ASAP. x
Hi, it’s definitely muscular as I have suffered sciatica many times. Having said that I did suffer with what I thought was sciatica coming on last week so there may be a connection. The muscles just hurt to touch. My Rhumy dept isn’t great to be honest, I have only seen physio once in 18 years and once used the hydro pool despite struggling to get meds under control so I’m not sure what state you have to be in for referral!
You sound just like when I have overdone the exercise or I am having a flare. (Is there any reason to think you are in flare at the mo?) My hospital are often lacking in letting you have scans or restrictive with some help, but they have a brilliant rheumy-physio and team and always refer you there without asking. Sorry you haven't had that offered. You could ask them? Worth a try. My phsyio is brilliant at diagnosing what the pain or ache is ... maybe he has Superman vision so they don't need to send me for a scan?! LOL. I hope you can rest this evening after work and the muscle aches subside soon. Do go to the doc if they don't. They may refer you on to physiotherapy. xx
You could try supplementing with magnesium and zinc. We are often deficient in these minerals and supplementing often helps with muscle pain. Sorry to hear you have such a hard time. Take care. Simba
Not sure if this is relevant but I have Polyneuropathy with RA and that gives me a lot of pain in my legs and feet especially at night. It feels like sharp electric shocks but my legs also feel oddly numb and disembodied. A nerve conduction test would check this. Good luck.
