Hi all lm hoping you can all help me with this please. Im on dmard for RA

Hi legley
Really sorry to hear your still struggling with the pain. The symptoms you describe, I’ve heard attributed to fibromyalgia but it could be a multitude of things. I know, from experience, a lack of sleep can exacerbate pain, then you’re in so much pain so you can’t sleep- and it can quickly become a vicious circle. I’d suggest you chat with GP or Rheumy and see what their thinking is.
Best of luck with things and let us know how you get on x
Hi Legley,
Even if I haven’t got pain from one particular joint I can ache all over and feel like my muscles are fizzing if that makes sense. On Saturday I spent the day on the sofa as my body felt like lead.
One of the many symptoms of RA is flu like symptoms but if you don’t feel as though it’s related to your RA maybe a trip to the GP is in order. It might be worth looking at the NRAS website at the symptoms of RA too.
Let us know how you are. Sarah xx
Have you had your Vitamin D level checked.... your symptoms could relate to that.... but also many other ailments but start with full blood test. Wishing you well.
Hello Legley
I have very similar symptoms you describe. In particular in my thighs and lower back. The muscles ache but different to a tired muscle ache. It's more of a rapid weakness, heavy and at times, burning
I also experience brain fog and fatigue.
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia almost 3 years ago. I don't get migraines but did have huge problems getting to sleep and staying asleep! I now eat lettuce at night to aid sleep. ( A helpful suggestion from hollywillow on here).
Fibromyalgia and RA together is rather unlucky! Fortunately, my RA is behaving right now but I still struggle with Fibro.
Climbing stairs pains my legs really severely sometimes and rest is what I have to do far more than I ever did.
Your Rheumy is the best person to ask about this. If it is Fibro, there is no cure. The best help for sore muscles is regular stretching. It does help. Also I have found the steam room to be incredibly good. Lotions and topical potions did not help.
I hope you receive a diagnosis soon.
Best Wishes
Suzie xx
My sleep pattern is a bit off at the moment and I’m waking up quite a lot during the night then in the morning I’m very tired and struggling to get up , I just put it down to the RA
If your symptoms persist maybe go and see your GP or speak to rheumatology. It may not be fibromyalgia but could be down to vit d deficiency. Could be start of a flare or just that you’re not getting enough sleep. I have fibromyalgia which is made much more severe because my RA isn’t controlled at all (I’m hoping this is going to change soon). I hope your symptoms don’t persist but if you’re in pain please don’t be a martyr and think you can cope with it step on it with regular pain meds until you feel better. In my experience pain which is uncontrolled makes the symptoms worse.
