Hello, I’m new to the group. I’m also very new in my diagnosis with RA. I’m supposed to get a pneumonia vaccine before starting Enbrel. They told me I needed to be completely better from the bronchitis and sinus infection I’ve had for weeks. I’m frustrated because the longer I go before getting the vaccine then the longer it is to get started on the medication. I have so many questions but don’t know where to start. Any encouragement or insight anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

New here
Hello. I just had my pneumonia jab before starting meds. Pleased to have the jab
Hi I’ve had the jab and felt nothing at all afterwards. Hope you get it soon and the infections clear up so you can start your Enbrel Sarah xx
Hello bjones1888 and welcome. You’re in the right place but I’m sorry that you have the need to be here in the first place. There’s quite a few newly diagnosed people here too. Please feel free to ask any questions you have. There’s lots of people who have been where you are and they can give you support and hopefully answers to those questions. We are not medically trained but we can help with those day to day difficulties of living with an auto immune disease. I hope you find the site useful.
You might find it helpful to look at the NRAS website. It has lots of reliable information on there. It might answer some of the questions that you always have when you start on tackling Rheumatoid Arthritis.
If you have a specific question, it's always worth looking at the right hand side of the page where there are some helpful links, or putting your query into the search box - most of us have the same sort of problems!
And remember that most people who are doing well on treatment don't bother to post!
Hiya & welcome. I think you'll just have to be a little more patient I'm afraid. If it's been advised to have the pneumonia vaccine then I'd have it. I did before starting leflunomide. As for your bronchitis & sinusitis only time will tell unfortunately but you do need to be well enough to start Enbrel.
I take it you're not in the UK if you're newly diagnosed & due to start Enbrel? I hope once you do you respond well. When you remember what you'd like to ask post again & hopefully we'll be able to help.
I've been off an on it over the years
In general is does help my arthritis, good luck
I've been diagnosed 8 years and only recently started on Enbrel. So far it's been the best drug I've had so I'd say you are lucky to be started on it so soon. Although not so lucky that you have severe enough RA to need it of course!
Hopefully you luck will continue and once you get started you'll feel it working within days.
