So I am CEV and being in group 2 I’ve had my first vaccine. I’m immunosuppressed due to RA/PsA and I’ve asked my GP surgery a couple of times over the past year when I’ll get my letter. They kept telling me that they don’t give them out, it’s done by central government.
Needless to say I’ve been sensible and shielded but without official documentation I’ve been unable to access certain services such as on line shopping.
Anyway today I get the letter that also tells me that anyone over 16 in my household who I’m in close contact with can now get the vaccine due to being a greater risk to me.
Is this new today or have I missed something? The email did indeed come from my GP and dated today but goes on about shielding/not going out etc.
I’m perplexed! I think that they’ve realised I haven’t received it and sent it out pronto!
Or is it due to the current need for immunosuppressed individuals not having the same cover despite having the vaccine (this is mentioned in the letter).
Thoughts greatly appreciated MPP x
