In short...NO. Food has no effect.

No, what I eat has no effect on my joints.

While many people do believe that diet affects their inflammation levels, I have certainly never made any connection between certain foods and joint pain.

Yes grains and many other foods cause me both gut and joint pain. Currently still on an elimination diet. For dome people there can be food intolerance or allergy.

No haven’t found that

I’ve tried vegan with no effect

Maybe you should take a food reaction test? I took one, which indicated a reaction to wheat, oats and egg yolks. Elimination of these foods resolved my symptoms.

I'm off bananas. I am convinced I get flare ups from them.

Yes, sugar for sure! Can't eat too many bananas.

I get a flare if I eat too much citrus fruit. It's happened five or six times now. I'll be really achy for 2-3 days afterwards, then it goes. I've even had problems taking a high dose vitamin c tablet when I've had a cold brewing. That's happened a couple of times too. Shame, because I love citrus.

I’m not sure if rhubarb is a fruit or not but it’s an absolute no no for me joint pain is horrendous after eating it. Bananas go right through me and too much citrus fruit makes my joints ache terribly too. So enjoy fruit because it’s good for you but be aware it can affect your joints as I’ve found to my cost.

Everyone is so different. There are definitely foods that are considered inflammatory but I’ve personally found that the results come after a long time of eating the same food. Moderation is key and trying an elimination “diet” can be helpful. I discovered a few specific foods that flare my symptoms. But it certainly isn’t the same for everyone. Overall, my RA has a mind of its own no matter what I do. But I typically avoid refined sugar, gluten and processed/refined foods.
