hi gang
what foods are good against arthritis and why..
I think it varies according to the individual Coonsanders?
If your arthritis is an inflammatory type such as RA i believe pineapple is meant to be good and other foods that have anti-inflammatory properties but if you suffer from Osteoarthritis then the foods that help might well be different. Also some derive benefit from stuff like Cider Vinegar I'm told - I only tried it in drink form once and it was really obnoxious and my sons all said it stank too bad also so I didn't pursue that particular one! My sister-in-law swears by the macro diet, but it is really rigid and very limiting, you have to be really strict and assertive to do it, good luck
I just read your blog, and I do have a list of Anti-inflammatory foods to tell you about. I just don't have the list right here. Some I know: All highley colored vegetables, such as dark green, like Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard. All berries are very high in anti-oxidents, thus are anti-inflammatory. Fruits like oranges, apples, watermelon. cantalope. Yellow and purple potatoes!! And then, the foods containing Omega-3s, like Salmon, Tuna, sardines.
What all this amounts to is a very healthy, well-balanced diet for anybody! And amounts are not limited. Go eat all the fruits and veggies you want, can't hurt, might help Balance with Chicken, Turkey, Pork and Lamb, and eggs, for protein. Hope that helps.
But not likely for Osteoarthritis, since osteo is not inflammatory, but a wear- and -tear sort of thing. Good luck!
Hi Coonsanders
As others have said, this is very much individual. I did a blog post on here recently about diet, which includes some links that might be of interest to you:

hi
Hello,
I've been on the Clint Paddison diet for 3 or 4 months now, I went to the Dr's the other day and my inflammatory markers are down to Normal, I couldn't believe it. I feel better than I've felt for years, the pain is very, very low and apparently the stiffness stays for a while but the point is that the diet has worked. It's a miserable diet, no meat, no fish, no oils, just lentils, veg, no fruit (the sugar feed candida). But I have to say as miserable as it's been making veg soup and eating lettuce I am better. I have reduced my methotrexate and my candida has gone, these all contribute to RA. There was a point where I thought it was a quack diet, but it isn't. I've had RA since 1997, there isn't much I haven't experienced in relation to it, including full body tendonitis which is miserable. I hope this inspires others to at least try it.
