salford together or not for me : took WIFE to docs in... - NRAS
I think Salford Enhanced Team is an acute service of the NHS, so not dodgy. clearly not as efficient as it might be in identifying patient details.
Would they honesly despatch a nurse/paramedic just from a phone call?
NHS must have money to burn in that area...what with paying (presumably ) the mail service to deliver prescriptions to everybody who asks, now this.
Think a few more medical salaries need paying......they can start up all the trimmings when the NHS is fully staffed & we don't have to wait weeks for an appointment.
Priorities seem a bit skewed ??? Who sanctions these expenditures I wonder?
Salford NHS is known to be innovative and this service is, I think, to try and look after acute situations that arise in people with chronic health problems, both physical and psychological, to try to prevent repeated hospital admissions. The aim will be to save money.
NORISA ARE YOU READING POST PROPERLY THEY HAVE ACCEPTED THE WIFE WHO TAKES ONE DURETIC TAB A DAY AND IS MAD AT ME FOR PUTTING HER FORWARD BUT THATS WIFE ME TURNED DOWN ON 10 TABS A DAY AND NEED ALL ATTENTION I COULD GET I LOVE NHS BROUGHT ME MY FAMILY UP TAKING CARE OF ME NOW BUT WHY CALL SCHEME SALFORD TOGETHER IT AS HURT ME I NEED THAT TYPE OF HELP AND HAVED LIVED IN SALFORD FOR 70 YEARS NEEDLESS TO SAY THEY HAVE NOT HERD THE LAST FROM ME ABOUT THIS
Sorry i have not understood
I have just googled Salford together,& although it does describe holistic care .....initially for the over 65's, now supposedly for everybody.
But wnen you click on any links it's all advertising.
One strange thing.....most "schemes" authorised by NHS, have .org
In their email address,..no sign of it on this site.
I'm probably behind the times, but it doesn't seem very efficient or organised to me.
Wonder where their funding comes from?
Maybe Pauluko would get an explanation from his GP?
All these posts seem out of logical order. i know nothing about Salford Together. (I am opting out of responding further to this particular post.)

Oh dear me. Whoever answered the phone clearly wasn't the most efficient!!!
Although I don't understand the situation, whether they are saying your surgery isn't included, or they can't locate your details, or quite what, but I do hear your total frustration. Sympathies! The NHS can be very good or very trying!
From what I can make out from your post, you need to talk to your surgery as they obviously have chosen not to offer this service. It’s not the fault of Salford Together if a surgery chooses not to partake. Maybe there’s a high cost implication. I’d definitely get in touch with the surgery to see if they are going to offer it in the future.
thanks kitty you may have have hit for me have phoned doctors said secretary away till Wednesday but will b banging doors down thats for sure i need this being three times at least even water arthritis was at FULL FLARE A WHILE BACK and still left with aftermath and well etc etc but you on HERE may have answered me BETTER THAN 3 PHONE CALLS 2 CALLS TO SALFORD TOGETHER I CALL TO DOCS AS I SAY ME turned down 70 years in salford born and bred and the wife accepted nurse on front door monday lived manchester 30years but it is not SALFORD TOGETHER dont care what anyone says i live salford and not in it AND NEED IT BADLY would do anything in my restricted able to help NHS but THIS feels and is a kick in the guts ouch dont say thatS ANOTHER SUBJECT you like to enlighten me on as they have had 3/4years and i would like to eat a solid meal omeprozole gavision etc etc etc not the same
Ok, these seem to be the facts:
There's a "Salford Together" scheme which you believe you would benefit from.
Only some Salford GPs participate in this scheme.
Your wife's GP does participate, your GP does not.
First, you need to talk to your GP about this. If you are not happy with what they tell you, you are perfectly entitled to move to a doctor who IS in this scheme, perhaps the surgery your wife uses. So there is a choice.
I understand that you have lived and worked in Salford all your life, however this has no bearing on your issue. If someone who had just moved to Salford and registered at your surgery, they wouldn't get "Salford Together" would they? Because your surgery dose not offer it.
If someone who had just moved to Salford registered at your wife's surgery then they would get it. Because that surgery offers it.
Please do not become bitter and nasty about newcomers. Firstly, it is not good for you, it will affect your health. Secondly, for the reasons stated above, it is misguided.
I do hope your GP surgery will be able to help you make better sense of this on Monday. Best wishes.

Pay no attention to anyone questioning your use of language. Screens are difficult to read at the best of times and as I'm sure anyone with arthritis knows, typing can be bloody difficult!
I'm certainly not in middle class England,by the way, I am a Scouser who now lives in Hull.
Anyhow, about the name "Salford Together", pay no attention to that either. The name will have been invented by a trio of young, bearded, hipster gentlemen over one of those posh coffees where the beans were pooed out by rainforest capuchin monkeys or something. People who have no clue about the lives us ordinary people lead. They couldn't exactly call it "Most of Salford Together except for that place on the precinct" could they? So don't let it anger you, in the great scheme of things, it means nothing.
And you can still change doctors if you want to access this service - just because you only heard about it the other day has no bearing on your right to change. If you want to do it, you jolly well can.
ann but i am not in the great scheme of things am i being sick if i eat more than clear soup 3/4years arthritis that their still not treating right it as angered me i will be banging doors wringing nums tell i get answers not right not fair there will be others at my surgery not being offered this with no explanation no choice Annie i am great believer in FAIRNESS i worked with poles Russians Italians Germans so much so we used go to clubs in Manchester also loads of black people of all nations in fact the other half of family black west indian the fairness covers all and your not saying there are no middle class scousers theres plenty but thanks for reading my garbled garbage to the rest best be careful here paulnounderstanduk
It's confusing. Yes, you would have received an alert because I was replying to someone on your post, even if it was in reply to someone else it would show as an alert to you. The way to check is to look to the right of the person who's been replied to, in this instance Anne... you'll see it gives my username next to hers. Sorry if it confused.
