Update on my Malt Lymphoma

Having being diagnosed with Malt Lymphoma and having seen the Haematologist I am not much further forward in treatment just more tests. Despite the body scan and blood test coming back negative she is now insisting on a bone and stomach biopsy, because this type of Lymphoma is very rare in the lung she is being ultra careful. The trouble is that all the tests take time for appointments to come through. They won’t all be done until just before. Christmas. I know that this form of cancer is very slow growing but it’s just frustrating. But in the meantime I am fairly well just the normal trials and tribulations that you have with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Crohns Disease.

Yes I can imagine how frustrating that is. You just want to know! I do hope everything is sorted soon for you. I'm afraid I've never heard of a malt lymphoma, do not much good there.

Wishing you wellness.

I haven’t heard of MALT Lymphoma but it’s so frustrating waiting for tests when you’re worried and just want want to know what’s happening and what can be done. I looked it up and they said it can successfully be treated ‘gently’ which sounds good. Hope they get moving on the rest of the tests and in the meantime the RA and Crohns behave themselves. Best wishes x

Can only relate to the frustration that you feel. Sounds like you have enough on your plate too. Stay strong during this time don’t put any unnecessary stress on top. Wishing you well, keep us posted.

Hi Leslie. Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear it's all taking so long regarding the various tests. Time seems slow when you are waiting to begin treatment. I'm sure they know what they are doing. Easier said than done but please try not to stress and wish you all the very best. Take lots of care .G X

The waiting must be so hard and the frustration is a killer. It's good to know they are being so thorough but don't you wish they'd just get on with it. Wishing you all the very best

Not heard of that variety of lymphoma, but classifications change from time to time. sounds like treatment is positive, but hard to wait - keep reminding 'them' you're there so you don't get left in the 'waiting' file - especially as everything goes to pot near Christmas!

Best wishes J
