Nordimet & Methofill

Is anyone been switched from Metoject to Nordimet or Methofill? My daughter is on Enbrel and stopped Methotrexate in March as in medical remission. Unfortunately she is flaring again so needs to go back on it. Hated the metoject as it stung and consultant mentioned that there is now Nordimet & Methofill, have any of you tried this and do they sting less?

Just a couple of quick questions. Does your daughter use the alcohol swab included in her Metoject box? If so maybe she could try not using it, either just wipe the area with soap & water, make sure the skin's dry before injecting. Or, do as I do & inject straight after she showers. I stopped using the swab for this reason & no longer have 'the sting'.

Same as nomoreheels...My rheumatology nurse said not to use the alcohol swab as it makes the injection sting. No need to wash the area before injecting.

Just ordinary cleanliness needed. I've had no problems.

I'm the same on Humira pen and Methetrexate metrojet, don't use swab as it the smell was making me feel sick and take out the fridge a couple off hours before injecting and find no problems xxx

We have never used an alcohol wipe for Metoject or Enbrel. She took the metoject for about 2ys and was fine but it started to sting and had issues getting her to have it, moved to tablets which she also hated. This time round she is willing to try the injection again but a non stingy one would be better .

I have used nordimet and didn't really find a sting at all, dead easy to use x

I have used metoject for years now with no sting. However one possibility would be to cool the area to be injected with an ice pack wrapped in a towel or similar, then inject, and then pop the ice pack back for a couple of minutes. That should get rid of a sting as if she finds that Metoject stings since it's the same drug in the other two not sure there would be a huge difference is she is sensitive to it.

I use to push metoject pen hard against my thigh before pressing plunger: didn’t feel a thing, might be worth a try. It was side effects I couldn’t cope with. On benepali now which can sting a bit so not being unsympathetic, good luck x
