I am not on any meds at the moment, so does that mean I am finally getting sick like normal people, rather than just pain and flares
Oh I so hope so

I had more infections when on meds constant really that's why I had to stop
I hope you get a doc's opinion very soon as ear infections can get excruciatingly painful quickly. I had an eardrum burst, twice, after only a few hours of being aware of discomfort.

No, that’ll be RD too! 😉 only joking cos you’re right, everything does seem down to it at times, hope you get some relief for it soon x
No, you should get sick more often with meds than without because they suppress our over-active immune systems.
I have had a chronic ear infection for 14weeks. 2 lots of antibiotic ear drops followed by 3lots of oral antibiotics and now a 6th lot of ear drops. My rheumy stopped my sulfa because it suppresses the immune system and have had to start taking prednisolone short term, I have coped quiet well on my regular meds and hope to get back on them very soon, but will have to start low and build up again.
Use a thought about earache, I have a perforated eardrum and I think that this has prevented any build up of pressurethus no pain!!!
my ear is better today my immune system must have zapped it, I am not in pain today so think my immune system has been kept busy with that
