Benepali

I was on enbrel for a couple of years and was changed to benepali. It made feel really ill and I had all sorts of things. Skin went really dry, nails didn't grow, palpitations all sorts and was told it was the carrier within the drug that was making me weird. Was then put back on enbrel but it was a while until benepali cleared my system

Sorry to hear this. Like you I changed from Enbrel to Benapali. This was about a year ago. Fortunately I have not had any of the unfortunate reactions you experienced and have to say I have not noticed any difference between the two. I did have to stop taking Benapali for a few weeks due to moving from Scotland to England and delay in transferring to a new rheumy team. After three weeks without it I went into a major flare and could hardly walk or dress and needed a steroid jab to tide me over. I am very happy to see the Benapali box back in my fridge.

I’ve been on Benepali since March, changed over from Enbrel. The Benepali really didn’t work for me - a lot more pain and I just didn’t feel right. I told my gp on Tuesday and he emailed my rheumatologist who rang me this morning- I can go back on Enbrel when th new prescription is sorted! It’s made my day!

Glad I’m not the only one been on it 9weeks pain increased fatigue was and is a nightmare feel awful had other problems as well seen my specialist nurse who intern has had a discussion with consultants and they agreed to put me back on enbrel.

My argument was I know it’s a similar drug but, if I said I will cop your arm off and replace it with a prosthetic one would you accept it’s nearly the same funny enough she agreed at the end of the day it’s down to cost not your well-being
