Benepali and Dry Mouth and Eyes

Hi all,

Has anyone suffered with this since switching to benepali. I didn't have any problems with etanercept but now suffer for 3/4 days post injection. What with that and feeling so bad for 3/4 days post methotrexate I'm just about ready to throw in the towel!

Hi there.... interestingly I suffered very dry mouth ( ulcers too) and dry eyes ( amongst many other issues) when on Methotrexate. Since stopping... all stopped. I have been on Benepali since late October and no side effects! Could it be the Methotrexate???

Don't know, I've been on methotrexate for years and never really suffered. I suppose it could be a combination of the two drugs that has made a difference.

Is Benepali the same kind of Biologic as Enbrel? TY!

Yes, it's just a cheaper version

I would be thinking more Mthx side effects than Benepali or even something like Sjorens and not a drug side effect at all.

I would speak to your rheumy nurse/GP as dry eye should be dealt with asap.

I have always suffered with these no matter which drug I have been on. Think is part of RD.
